The offense has wake up from its 4 day vacation and light this team up this weekend. While the Cubs offense has been pretty good recently, their pitching remains horrible.

The Cubs have surrendered double digit runs 19 times this year (including 15 runs last night) and 14 of those 19 games came after they peaked with the combined no hitter in late June that brought them to 42-33 and tied with the Brewers for first place. At that point they had scored more runs and allowed fewer runs than the Brewers. Losing 18 of their next 20 led to the trading deadline fire sale.

Those double digit performances are not just 10’s and 11’s either. 15 of them involve giving up 13 runs or more.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

I was down in Milwaukee for my weekly treatment on my burned hands.

Afterwards we went to "The Restaurant to be Named Later" for lunch. We had a nice spot on the outside. Yelich was there setting up for batting practice before 2:00. We watched him hit a few. They had a guy in the outfield catching balls. I yelled to him: "Throw to the guy with the burned hands", and he smiled and tossed me one.

So I have an actual ball hit by Yelich in batting practice.

Questions are a burden.   And answers a prison for one's self.

Cool! Let's hope he gives a couple to the fans in the outfield stands tonight.. with his bat, of course. (Good luck with your hands, too BTW. ;) )

Thanks. I did something really bone-headed a couple weeks ago which resulted in 2nd degree burns on both hands and forearms. Lots of pain with that.

I had my last visit today to Ascension Burn Clinic, so it's nice having lighter bandages on. I can finally type again.

I didn't recognize who was in the outfield, but I'm guessing it was Jacob Cruz, the asst hitting coach. Glad he was sporting with me. We were hoping Christian would hit one to us. :)

Andy Haines was talking to him quite a bit and demonstrating stuff, so it looks like he's trying to fix things too. I was impressed how early he was out.

Glad to hear you are feeling better!

Thanks Hom.

As bad as 2020 was, 2021 was a disaster.

Covid in Feb

Lost my Dad to an aneurysm in his aorta bursting

Had mom in surgery for the same aorta issue my dad had. A 5-7 day hospital visit turned into 6 weeks, as her kidneys took 4 weeks to start working again. Still trying to get her to eat.

Then my burn incident.

I'm done with this year...
