Bart Winkler is kinda the king of the hot take sports talk shock jock idiots. This reaction isn't surprising. He is the definition of a casual baseball fan.

Except this isn't a hot take. Combined no hitters are just not any fun, especially when your starter Ks 14, allows one walk, and you have one of the best closers in baseball coming in fresh. There was no doubt Hader wouldn't give up a hit.

Cain catch better than Yount? I think I'll go with Cain.

Jim Paciorek made a great catch earlier in the Nieves' no hitter that might have been better than both, but nobody remembers it.

Cain's catch was way better. Yount's dive was almost completely unnecessary and almost theatrical.

What about Jace Peterson's catch???

I thought it was fun. Maybe I'm just an old fuddy-duddy. :)

What about the fans? This team does not have the buzz it should, if the game is still for the fans, a true no-hitter may have energized the dormant fans.

Until someone can show me the science that 130 pitches greatly increases chances of injury in one outing vs 115, this is really disappointing.

This team doesn’t have the buzz? Maybe I’m missing something…

This is literally the best pitching 1-13 this team has ever assembled. Scoring runs at a very good clip. Playing very good defense besides Urias.

What I find ironic is a board full of baseball fans being apologists for being denied the experience most every fan dreams about. Yes we all want a World Series but that doesn't mean you have to compromise career and franchise milestones along the way because there's some perceived extra heightened chance a player could be injured. Any player can be injured at literally any time for any reason. It doesn't make sense to cave to fear, at least to me. A championship is as much about the journey as the culmination.

Whatever, I'm just disappointed. I'll get over it. It sure makes me care less about Juan Nieves' no hitter because the Milwaukee Brewers franchise just told me by their actions it doesn't matter.

How many hits did the Indians have tonight? That's what I thought. The Brewers just pitched a no-hitter. Yes it counts. If you choose not to acknowledge it, that's on you. But history will disagree.

I think every one of us would have loved to see Burnes come out in the 9th. But the realist in many of us knew that wasn't going to happen. There was absolutely no way they were going to let Burnes pitch 130+ pitches. It just isn't the way the game is played anymore. The game has evolved.

I'm glad you found a way to enjoy it. Seriously.

I feel nothing, I can't even enjoy the win right now much less a combined no hitter because no hitters have just been rendered meaningless within the borders of this state.

I've never been that impressed with combined no hitters anyway, they're not the same. They're nice in that your team likely won the game but not much beyond that.

You certainly have the right to your opinion. I do hope that your disappointment does eventually wear off, and you can recognize the historical significance of what happened tonight. 34 years!!! I sure as heck hope that we don't have to wait that long for another one.

I turned to my wife when Cain made that catch and said it was better than Yount's.

I didn't think it was all that great. Cain can make a play like that in his sleep. I also think Yount's was overrated. He didn't even have to dive to catch that one, he just wanted to make it more dramatic. He has said as much. Burnes snagging the comebacker was more impressive to me.

Jace's catch was cool, but it wouldn't have been a hit if he fails.

Peterson's catch was awesome, but it's not a hit if he doesn't get to it. So there's a big difference there.

None of that has anything to do with buzz. They can't even sell-out a game. There's not the excitement we had last couple playoff runs, there's just not.

My younger son who pretty much permanently lives in his room came out just to watch the last two innings. He got the significance of the moment and certainly didn't think the fact that it was combined in any way cheapened the moment. He was certainly excited and that is all that really matters to me.

As I pointed out earlier, I sure as heck had fun watching the end of this one. Watching my son, who pitches for his youth league team, live every pitch with Burnes, and me try to explain why Burnes was pulled with an inning to go, is something I will never forget. Watching him on pins and needles while Hader mowed down the Indians in the 9th was special. Hader is is favorite player, and my son was stoked that Hader had the chance to be a part of this historical event.

He's devouring every bit of postgame coverage as I type. So I disagree. This night has been fun. A lot of fun. I'm sorry you don't agree.

I would have given him the 9th, but I acknowledge that I'm not Craig Counsell and I don't know 1/10 of this team compared to him. I realize Craig would have loved a nono as much as any of us.

I think Corbin would have been fine pitching the 9th, I don't see how you pull him there. But I respect so much the fact that Craig has created a culture where overall they are playing for a world championship, not an individual game achievement.

Hader's post game told me Josh thought let him finish. But whatever. It was borderline and I guess this isn't the time for borderline stuff.

I'm not mad, I trust CC.

I would take this game every single day and have a ton of fun watching it! You make it sound like they had a no-hitter the easy way, if that's the case they should do it more often!

Yup. Brewers are currently 10th in average attendance...

We're still in the middle of a pandemic, there's going to be a decent chunk of the population that just don't feel safe going to a baseball game right now.

This! Milwaukee is 10th in attendance I do believe. Pretty damn good given population.

I'm sure it would be exciting for a kid and a father watching him get excited. For a 51 year old guy and kids that are grown up, not so much.

To be clear I would have loved it without my son watching. It is sports. Have fun with it. If you can't enjoy a no hitter I am not sure what to say. But to each his own I guess

There are many factors influencing attendance right now. I'm not sure that is a great indicator of enthusiasm right now. You also have to consider that the last few years have been close races. This one just isn't. The post season is a lock right now. Everyone is gearing up for the playoffs now. I wouldn't expect the same level of intensity when the division was locked up weeks ago essentially.
