These things usually take care if themselves. If Burnes feels good and wants to go back out you let him go out and try to pitch to contact. He starts to labor at all you pull him.

If he leaves Burnes in to throw 130 pitches, and his arm is shot, the rest of us aren't going to be happy. Gotta be smart, and wearing out your ace in a relatively meaningless September game isn't the way to do it.

Gotta remember how he hasn't had to worry at all about hitting this game, so he might have a bit more in him to go for it - I get the thinking of pulling Burnes at this point...but damn if I was in CC's shoes right now I just couldn't do it yet.

It's all situational. If he walks the first 2 guys in the 8th and is at 115 pitches I sure hope they would pull him.
