BA signs extension

markedman5

The Cubs tv booth has played musical chairs now that they have Boog Sciambi. They have a revolving door mix of national voices and Pat Hughes coming over from radio.

This musical chairs in the booths has become a national trend more so with announcers not travelling for the most part. I don't like Lepay for baseball

(I wish I had a nickel for every time he brings up Johnny Bench. We get it Matt you grew up a Reds fan in Ohio) Coshun isn't great but he's familiar and he knows the team and the game. I wish they'd just stick with him as regular backup though the radio guys are fine too. There's plenty of guys available for pre and post game.

I think BA stays because he likes living in the area enough, and Brewers have been very generous in allowing him extended periods off. He's probably off as much or more than any "regular" play by play guy in the business. So much so that when he returns after an absence it really takes him a series or two to re-acquaint himself with what's been going on. Heck Adames had been here like 6 weeks before Anderson did a game with him and he sounded like he had just discovered what we already knew. Hopefully a normal NBA season that wraps up in June next year will spare us from some of Lepay.

A bit off topic, but I’ve been struggling to find the video the Brewers made for the Uecker celebration yesterday. They said it was posted by Brewers Twitter, but all I could find were the little one minute snippets with Counsell, Attanasio, former players, and 50-plus year announcers. I wanted to see the vide narrated by Yount.

Any help, fellow BF.betters?

Yes. I realize that I have ended up pushing my own post. But I thought of this during the post-game stuff:

I’d like to give mad props to Sophia for her professionalism and sheer joy working the clubhouse. And that smile!!! Whenever she got doused, that smile came through and just warmed my heart. It really made me appreciate her even more.

Some might call her “just a journalist” but I could tell, she is a part of the team.

Brewers are blessed with their media team top to down. Sophia is dedicated to her craft. I believe she won an award at one point, largely to her commitment to Spanish interviews.

Was thinking of the college football reporter a couple weeks ago who set up in the middle of the concourse after the team won then had a tizzy because drunk fans kept getting in her shot.

Meanwhile, we have players literally pouring a bottle of champagne over Sophia as she's doing an interview and she's completely unphased. What a pro.
