One thing that stands out about the Cleveland lineup is how fast their collection of hitters is from top to bottom. They have 10 players that have a sprint speed over 28 ft/second this season, including 6 that are at or above 28.9 ft/second. By comparison the Brewers have 0 players at or above that latter mark. It feels like one of those series where the infielders aren’t going to have much room for error on making clean picks and throws to avoid the opponent racking up infield hits. Unfortunately we’ve seen that hurt the Brewers at points this season, sort of death by a thousand paper cuts.
Not just “at Night” anymore.

I had Bobby Bradley on one of my fantasy teams. Assumed he would be called up early in the season since their 1B sucked. Like worse than the crap we ran out there for years. He finally made it up in June after Owen Miller and Yu Chang, two no hitting middle infielders shared the position, and neither could put up an OPS over .500. You saw the correctly - OPS under .500. Totally boggled my mind how they continued to run those two out there.

Chang was supposed to be one of the pieces coming back in the nixed Lucroy deal once upon a time. Pretty good thing for the Brewers that deal fell through in hindsight, as none of the four guys who would have come back have amounted to much, although the supposed centerpiece, Francisco Mejía, is having a decent season with the Rays. In hindsight, the package that ended up coming back from the Rangers for Lucroy and Jeffress wasn't great, either, but at least they were able to flip Brinson to the Marlins in the Yelich deal, Ortiz to the Orioles in the ill-fated Scoop deal, and Ryan Cordell to the White Sox for Anthony Swarzak.

The brewers could get to 100 wins this year

I guarantee you no one

No one predicted that

The BF.net preseason prediction thread wasn't very popular this year but it did have one prediction for 97 wins -- nobody said 100. Hard to predict that the Brewers would suddenly correct a decade-long problem at shortstop with the Adames trade.

I always get a kick out of when we go on the road to an American League team

They will have always have a dh who they pay a ton of money too that has 33 homers. We will have a vogelbach type character as a dh

Heck I remember one year counsell was a dh. That had to be an advantage for AL teams

I think recent Brewer teams that have a bunch of players who can play multiple positions has lessened that advantage....their roster seems like it's pretty deep with their bench, and they can play platoon advantage with the DH depending on the handedness of the pitcher rather than just run out their everyday DH like most AL teams do now.

The DH is certainly nice for AL teams but it the big picture they are only OPSing 7 points higher than the NL this year since you basically always have to start one guy off the bench and there are only so many guys who can hit MLB pitching to go around.

The Brewers are lucky to have two 1B options right now, but for most NL teams adding the DH would just mean more ABs for Pablo Reyes-type guys.

With Adames out this is the best lineup the Brewers can put out there.

Here’s hoping the Brewers can get to this mediocre pitcher and start to put a dent in the AL Central hex.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

If Adames and Taylor were available the Brewers would have more opportunities to get a pretty good bat in the DH slot.
