Maybe why Harper is hott at the plate. Ball over middle of the plate atop the zone called a ball. Like is the strike zone where he asks for it in a HR contest only? Has he broken down the umps from all his past whining to just cater to what he wants?

Lets get Ashby a win!

I don’t want to beat a dead horse… but… is this one of the worst seasons we’ve ever witnessed from a hitter? I can’t remember many worse than this. JBJ can’t seem to do much right.

His OPS+ of 39 is the worst in franchise history, “exceeding” Mike Matheny’s 1996 and Tim Johnson’s 1973 OPS+ of 44.

Is he in danger of not being on playoff roster if Taylor comes back

Yeah, postseason rosters are very forgiving. Bradley makes it as a pinch-runner only. The defense is bonus. He'll make the roster.

Every time I watch Escobar hit I think to myself: 'This is NOT a 0.256 hitter. It just isn't.'

I think the same thing. He just seems to have great at bats almost all the time

Agreed. He's had quite a few at bats where he's cranked one foul that would have been a homer if he kept it fair too. Add in the switch hitting ability and positional flexibility and he could be a very valuable piece of this team the rest of the year.
