The Brewers were down 5-1 to the Cardinals in the seventh inning of Game 4 of the 1982 World Series in Milwaukee and scored 6 runs in the bottom of the inning. Will history repeat itself?

Close enough. Cool game grab here.

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Went to T"Rats game with my brother and they had a walk off with Joey Wiemer hitting a three run shot. Got home in time to watch the ninth inning of the Brewers game and another walk off home run. Two walk offs in about an hour. Awesome!

I saw a guy wearing a T'Rats T-shirt at the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimps game last night. Thought that was weird.

but it's not like every guy suddenly forgot every piece of advice he gave

You could tell watching the replay that a lot of Brewer fans left after the 8th when they came up empty handed and it was still 5-1 going into the 9th. Imagine leaving early to beat traffic and missing that one.

It's why I never leave early from a Brewers game, ever!

Yeah, me too. And I thought yesterday's game was the best I ever saw in person. I think I went to the wrong ball game now.

That was one of the goofiest endings possible for me.

Because the game ran past the four hour mark, I was already outside grilling for a family get together. I was kind of following how it was going on my watch, but figured that they blew their last best chance when they didn’t score in the eighth.

Then in the ninth I saw that they had loaded the bases with one run in. Suddenly I hear the girl next door yell out to her Dad and brother “”Walk off grand slam” and they ran in the house. It took awhile for the app on my watch to report that.

Now I’m looking forward to watching the replays of the finish on both the Brewers and Cards telecasts. This one is right up there with the one Braun hit in St. Louis in 2019.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

One thing that has kind of gone unnoticed is the play of Maile. Pretty solid behind the plate and seems to contribute something consistently.

Maybe they give Manny a job in the organization and Maile becomes the backup in the offseason.

This is the weirdest time in my life as a Brewer fan. The results don't actually matter that much, so I'm just latching on to every little thing as a potential playoff indicator. Probably not the way to go...

I do remember 2011 being like this a little, though I never believed the Crew would win until they won. Plus, wasn't it a 5 or 6 game lead until about the second week of Sept.?

If I could fast forward to the point of getting the magic number under 8, I would

They were up 7-10 games in the division from mid-August onward. From July 26 to August 28 they went 27-5 to put everyone else away that year.

I've been wrong a lot lately. Just remember it feeling more precarious to me then.

What you’re probably remembering is that the Brewers beat the Cardinals on Labor Day to go ahead by 10.5 games, but then lost 2 to the Cardinals and 3 to the Phillies to drop the lead to 6 and then it went to 5.5. The Cardinals were on a hot streak and the 5 game losing streak was unsettling.

But it never got closer than 4.5 and the Brewers clinched with 5 games to spare.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

We were golfing and on the 5th hole I looked and saw they were down 5-1, turned it off. Checked on the 7th hole green and saw it was B9 with 2 on and 1 out on the app. 8th tee box we had to wait and I turned on the radio cuz why not? Listened to the walk to load the bases. Listened to Uek call the GS before we tee'd off. I'm sure someone thought one of us somehow just got a hole in one on a par 5 based off of our celebrating and screaming when he hit the GS.
