Got two runs across, but felt there was a bit of a lost chance for an even bigger inning. But can’t complain too much.

Felt like it could have been bigger but I’ll take 2 runs and running the pitch count up near 40

When the pitcher comes up in a key spot in an inning that significantly lowers my expectations.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Keep it loose in between innings. Pitch until we get back to your spot in the order then go to the pen.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

The problem I see arising here tonight is that Suter went 2 yesterday, so he's not going to be available tonight. I can see them trying to push Anderson through a few more innings potentially.

I just don’t think that’s prudent, even if it’s possible.

In my younger days I remember taking a knee to my thigh playing basketball and I could play for awhile, but eventually it got so stiff I couldn’t continue. I can’t imagine a guy taking a shot like that to a pitching shoulder being able to pitch much longer, and he’d be risking a different injury if he tried.

BTW, the guy whose knee hit me had a long career in the NFL as a defensive back. He was a freshman in college at the time.

Cousins threw 30 pitches last night, so he should be down. If you assume 3 from Box, Williams, Harder, you need 4 from Strickland, Norris, Topa, and whoever else is left.

Milner plus their 6th starter since Peralta will be activated on Friday.

Edit: whoever else is left=Miller, unless Ashby is eligible to come out of the pen.

It's a 9 man (or is it 10 now?) pen. They'll figure it out.

But they are planning to start Lauer tomorrow and Houser on Saturday around Peralta’s start on Friday so they won’t be used in relief either.

They’re just going to have to get some innings out of Norris, Milner, and/or Topa and if they give up runs and the offense can’t add on, just write it off.
