I honestly think Mil is better than SF. If we weren't scraping the bottom of the bullpen barrel last time we could have swept that series.

Looking forward to Lauer tomorrow, as he seems to smoke NL West teams.

Questions are a burden.   And answers a prison for one's self.

The Brewers-Giants regular season games aren’t providing the best preview of what a playoff series between the teams would look like.

In the series at AFF the Brewers had the COVID issues in the bullpen and that affected a couple of the games. But, at the same time, the Giants came into the series with their bullpen taxed by a long game in AZ the day before and further challenged by extra inning games in the first two games of the series. They were also forced to throw Sanchez as an emergency starter in one of the games. Now the Giants are having their own COVID issues while the Brewers are still missing Peralta.

Tonight’s game will be the first time the Brewers will be facing either of the Giants first two starters, and only the second time they will be facing one of their top 3. If everyone is healthy come playoff time, the starting pitching matchups will be quite different than what we are seeing in the regular season.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

I mean Burnes/Woodruff shutting down their offense does count for something.

One thing I wanted to mention about last nights game. I love how Omar works with our pitchers……especially the young ones like Cousins.

His body language is always reassuring…….he went out to the mound in that crucial at bat to Belt ……looked like he changed up his locations because Belt seemed to be getting the info from 2nd base……so he started the target up and then at the last second moved it down for the slider that struck him out.

He and Manny both appear to in complete control back there.

Well, we are a Avi Garcia can of corn away from a 4-1 season series lead.

Sure, but

Sure, but the only one of the 5 games that matched up one of the Brewers top 3 against one of the Giants top 3 was the first game at AFF (Burnes vs Webb) and that one was 1-1 after 9 innings. If the teams meet in the playoffs with everyone healthy I would expect games like that with runs hard to come by on both sides. There won’t be any games matching Woodruff against the Giants bullpen, and even those games were tight (2-2 after 9 innings and 3-1).

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Gausman has been very meh since the all-star break. 4.85era 1.59whip

Gausman’s biggest problems came in his first couple of starts after the ASB but he’s been better in his 5 August starts (ERA 3.16, WHIP 1.29) He hasn’t been as dominant or been working as deep into games as he was earlier in the year.

two starts ago he couldn't get past the 4th inning
