I usually don't start scoreboard watching till September 1, but we're close enough. The Reds are currently getting shut-out 2-0, with one hit against the Marlins in the bottom of the 7th.

Marlins coming up in the bottom of the 8th, the Reds are now down to their final at bat. I’m hoping the magic number makes just a brief pit stop on 24 today.

Not just “at Night” anymore.

Happy to hear we’re starting to win the trade again. A month ago there was talk that Brinson might be the better player going forward.

 

Brinson flashed for a few weeks but has been brutal again. He has the tools but just can't seem to put it together.

Between that trade and getting absolutely hosed in the Grisham trade we should probably just find a new GM.

but it's not like every guy suddenly forgot every piece of advice he gave

I mean, Lewis Brinson is 27, has over 1000 career PA's, has a .576 career OPS, and a -2.4 career WAR. Even with Yelich's dumb contract, and the possibility that he might just be "Marlins" Yelich, there's no reason to start revisiting that trade and thinking "what if".

 

Even this year Brinson is a .706 OPS guy in limited playing time. Speaking of "he is who we thought he is"....

The Reds were supposed to sweep the Marlins. We might have been misinformed.

 

Were we also misinformed about the Brewers winning a series in Minnesota?
