2021-08-28: Brewers (Houser) at Twins (Barnes) [Brewers lose, 6-4 -- Houser tagged for 5 runs in 5.0 IP]

Eye Black
Hauser now in the record books with about a thousand other guys.

3 pitch inning.

Crazy how fortunes can seem to turn where he couldn't get out of the 4th to a 3 pitch 5th

These umpires are flat out babies. how the hell do you throw out tellez. He calmly disagreed with a strike call. Hitters literally say that every time. Pina needs to not catch one and let it hit blue

Another umpire making himself a part of the game.

I've beaten that drum to death on these forums. Stop ejecting players in almost all cases. It's just so stupid. I will say, that low slider strike was pretty close. Not a strike, but not as egregious miss. But tellez barely did anything. These umpires are literally some of the softest human beings walking the planet.

The gamecast called it a swinging strike. Is that what happened or no?

All he did was ask if it was in the zone. The strike 3 that he swung at.

Complete BS.

Actually, you can read his lips and he asked the Homeplate umpire if that was a strike that he swung at (while tossing his bat). The umpire can be seen saying “you showed me up, you showed me up”

Want to know something hilarious? The MLB Umpires Association has me blocked on Twitter. All I did one time was ask why such bad performance was allowed with no accountability. Nothing vulgar or anything inappropriate. They're just as thin skinned on social media as they are in real life.

I might be wrong but it looked like he said 'was that a strike?' referring to the pitch he just swung at. I don't even think not liking the call had anything to do with what he said to the ump or him getting tossed. Maybe I didn't read his lips correctly though.

You’re right I first saw it as “that wasn’t a strike” and he just asked “was that a strike?”

Counterpoint, players should have a thicker skin on the imperfections of calling balls/strikes. A called strike that's an inch below the pencil-thin outline we see on screen seems within acceptable margin of error to me.

I honestly don't care what tellez said. I don't care if he flat out said he blew the call. In what other sport do guys get ejected from games so often? At least 95 percent of ejections should not happen. If someone thinks you screwed up a call, well you probably did, tell him to go to the bench and move on. Stop ejecting players
