Omar Narváez Appreciation thread

What Omar has done to turn himself from maybe the worst regular defensive catcher into one of the best is truly remarkable. I know Charlie Greene and the front office gets a lot of love, but Omar has got to have an incredible work ethic and willingness to accept coaching to accomplish this. If he could be extended this offseason for something in the range of the James Mccann contract or a little north of that I think it would be an incredible steal.

According to Fangraphs he had accumulated -9.9 defensive runs on arriving in Milwaukee and he's +20.2 with us.

He’s been awesome. Might be my favorite catcher the Crew has ever had.

While he doesn't drive the ball with authority, I love that he doesn't hit high fly balls with tongs of launch angle. His line drive shots to all fields often get over the infielders and infront/between outfielders. Love his walks as well, and his defense has made tremendous progress. Pina may be among the elite defenders in the league at catcher, but Narvaez isn't a big drop-off. I hope they are our tandem for a few more years.
