Wonder how much Anderson's injury history will work against him making the playoff roster. as the #4 starter (assuming they throw 4). Not sure you want to have the increased risk of a short start by him

My guess is that Houser is the #4 starter in the playoffs and Anderson and Lauer would be longmen/piggyback type guys if needed.

Anderson has a 100 ERA+. He's perfectly average. Saying he doesn't give the team a chance to win is false.

Hence why I said, "feels like". #Grammar101

I feel like when our average starters start, we have a pretty decent (50/50) chance of winning.

Winning I suppose. Baseball is a long game and maybe they do come from behind to be average. Again, what I was stressing it feels like when I see Anderson is starting is one of those games where it takes 20 pitches to record an out, the Brewers are behind at home before they can ever record an at-bat. It's a day of nibbling around, walking guys, giving up a dinger or two and just a complete momentum killer of a day that leads to a loss if the bats aren't just completely alive. It's not endearing baseball to watch, which was the initial reply to the OP.

Would make sense. I'm not sure you need both Anderson and Lauer though for a 5 game series, could see Anderson being replaced with another batter like Hiura or Vogelbach.

Call me crazy but I actually think Hiura could have a spot on the NLDS roster solely as a pinch hitter in case one is needed early in the game. If a starter doesn't have it and their spot comes up in the 3rd, could make sense sending a guy like Hiura up there to see if he can run into one and preserve a guy like Urias for later in the game when you may need him more situationally

One Brewers win the entire month in games he's started (pending today's final) and he barely got enough outs to qualify for the win himself. There's just zero good feeling I get with Anderson being on the mound as a starter. I'd rather have Suter stretched back out.

Agree with this.

Don't agree with stretching Suter back out, he has found his niche, and I don't want to see him starting again, ever.

The Reds bullpen paradox: the closer the game gets, the higher the incoming reliever's ERA is

Reds pen vs. JBJ is an interesting matchup.

Or a stoppable force meets a moveable object
