I would have been interested in Westbrook I guess but I think he's been 2B with little to no 1B/3B
I tried to log in on my iPad. Turns out it was an etch-a-sketch and I don't own an iPad. Also, I'm out of vodka.

Why Pablo Reyes … surely there is someone else on the Nashville roster … I seldom dislike a Brewers player - but goodness … I’ve seen enough of Reyes

1000x this!!

He is the 2021 version of Yuniesky Betancourt.

Hard to compare a utility player who is only brought up to fill in for injuries to an everyday SS.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

The Escobar injury coupled with Adames being out for several days really caught them short with very little in reserve at AAA and no ability to make a deal to acquire help. Didn't help that the Reds jumped in ahead of them and claimed Asdrubal Cabrera off waivers. Didn't help either that a 3rd RH bat is down with Taylor being out. Too bad Hernan Perez didn't stick around.

I think their logic in a lot of things is that good defense is more consistent and gives a player a higher floor than good offense, especially with players that aren't going to get regular at bats. You could bring up one of those bat first corner infield types and maybe they hit and maybe they won't, but with Reyes you know absolutely he's going to do a good job at one half of the game. This is why JBJ's struggles don't bother me too much, because you just know if he wasn't here they would have a light hitting defensive specialist on the roster and getting a start a week or so just because that's the kind of baseball counsell and stearns play.

On the field playing catch is something that isn’t likely to aggravate a hamstring injury, but doesn’t give any indication that Escobar will be close to returning within a week.

escobar has played catch multiple times and has hit. there's not an urgency to rush him back, but an absence of only two weeks isn't out of the question.

The Brewers expect to reinstate Eduardo Escobar (hamstring) from the IL for Friday’s series opener against the Cardinals. He went through a hard workout today and came out of it fine.
