As successful as this team has been, It does not seem to come back at all once down in the later innings.

It’s sort of interesting to see that impression, because this year’s team actually gives me more hope for late innings offense than in the past.

Yeah, 2018 team scored a lot early. Seems like this one scores more late.

We definitely score late runs for sure, but it’s more as put away runs as opposed to come from behind runs.

Of course with 76 wins, we haven’t been behind that often for chances to come back late

Yeah by like an inch. That's what's considered borderline.

An inch or two outside is outside. So an umpire should only be expected to be able to call pitches that are 6 inches off the plate correctly which any half drunk blowhard sipping Heineken at home could call correctly?

Good lord, is this like your first year watching baseball?

There is not a human being alive who gets 100% of pitches correct within a few inches of the strikezone, never has been, and never will be either. Cry about it if it makes you feel better I guess.

Yeah, let's get sarcastic and personal. Nice reply, I guess when all else fails just insult the other guy.

No crap, no one ever said there is a human being alive who gets 100% of calls correct, which is why 90% of us are calling for automated zones.

Here is where the Brewers rank among all MLB teams in runs per game by inning this year (2021)…

1st inning: 14th

2nd inning: 14th

3rd inning: 25th

4th inning: 16th

5th inning: 18th

6th inning: 3rd

7th inning: 6th

8th inning: 19th

9th inning: 9th

Not just “at Night” anymore.

As successful as this team has been, It does not seem to come back at all once down in the later innings. Two comebacks on the road in the 9th against the Rockies and Cardinals. The announcers talk often about all the comebacks, but they have been almost exclusively small early deficits. The team has not had a walk off in the 9th at home all year. And has never even tied it at home in the 9th that I can remember

Yeah it does kinda feel like that with this year’s team. It felt like the 2018 and maybe even the 2019 had more late game magic. With 76 wins though there isn’t as much opportunity for those late game comebacks.

It's amazing how quickly this lineup goes back to looking pretty punchless. Lose Esco and Adames (and Taylor even), and the pitching has to be very, very good.

I'm not panicking about this series regardless of the result. I just think it's more likely this division gets closer than turns into a runaway. Even a comfy, 4-5 game win will come with plenty of dicey moments in September.

If we can at least win 1 we are sitting 6.5 up which is pretty comfortable.

If we manage to get swept then they have more than cut our lead in half from 9.5 to 4.5 in a very short period of time which is absolutely reason for concern given their September schedule.

Yeah, I'm just saying you're going to get reason for September concern in every baseball season save for the outliers.

Obviously, a sweep would suck. But the it will FEEL worse than it will logically be. Look at this way: even after a sweep, the Brewers will have gained on the Reds since the AS break.

I mean...this zone is REALLY bad.

And ALWAYS in favor of the Reds. I'm seriously considering not even watching to this series anymore. How can you not at least think it's possible that the fix is in?

Follow somebody on Twitter that indicated the same thing but then did research and realized the Brewers as a whole were getting more calls against the Reds by a pretty large margin.
