It was 8-6 after just four innings...

The 2-through-6 spots in the order reached base 13 times, but the biggest knock was 18-year-old (19 next week) Venezuelan 3B Jesus Parra, who was 1-for-5 but hit a two-out, three-run double in the 4th. Parra had a fine 2019 as a 16-year-old in the DSL including six home runs. He has underwhelmed in 2021, 15-for-71 (.211), 22 K's and zero walks (five HBP's).

It was a season-best effort four scoreless innings for just-turned 19-year-old Mexico native RHP Ramon Carrasco - 1 H, 2 K's, 0 BB.

The D-Backs kids bumbled and fumbled two runs to the Crew in the bottom of the 8th to break a 1-1 tie, but credit to OF Arbert Cipion (the DH in this one) for leading off the frame with a triple. The 21-year-old was the Brewers' 9th round pick in 2018 out of a New Jersey high school.

In 471 pro at-bats, Cipion has fanned in 43.9% of them. The speedster's K percentage in this, his 3rd season, is at 48%, so that number can't just be blamed on his rookie campaign.

I feel bad now, highlighted the big triple and then pointed out the raw numbers. Cipion is 38-for-52 (73.1%) in career SB attempts.

July Link Report stud SS Jheremy Vargas (.958 OPS in 52 AB's) has had a tough August (.410 OPS in 46 AB's).

This was the season (and stateside) debut for 19-year-old Colombian 3B Branlyn Jaraba, who signed for $1,100,000 in July of 2018. He's been sidelined with an injury of unknown origin (well to us, as I'm sure the Brewers and Jaraba knew what hurt).

Very pretty lines from the three Crew hurlers.

Tough-luck loss for 19-year-old Nicaraguan RHP Stiven Cruz, who has been very strong in seven starts, be sure to click the link.

Cerveceros 2-for-14 with RISP, stranded 11.

Growing pains - nine errors at SS in 23 games for 17-year-old Gregory Barrios (a true 17, birthday in April), who has posted a .561 OPS.

18-year-old Dominican OF Mendy Ferreira has only played in 14 games (32 AB's), yet he's 9-for-11 in SB attempts.

That's how you get your 1st pro win!

19-year-old (20 next week) Dominican RHP Domingo Mejia highlighted a strong debut season with this effort - 7 IP, 1 H, 0 BB, 1 HBP, 2 WP's, 12 K's.

19-year-old Dominican RHP Gregory Baez retired all six men he faced to complete the one-hitter.

It was only 2-0 until a six-run Cerveceros 8th inning.

Congrats to 18-year-old Dominican 2B Luis Watter on his first pro home run, an opposite field line drive to right, which broke a scoreless tie in the 6th.

Every position player reached base, defense was perfect, Brewers management will frame this box score as Game of the Year for this club.
