Tonight was Erceg's best pitching performance of his career. It is easy to be down on him but in many ways just being thrown into AA to pitch for the first time in your professional career and do what he has done is fairly impressive. One more year for the Brewers to see if he can potentially help the big league team in the bullpen before he become a minor league free agent.

Pre-Game Media Notes

Lindblom Fans a Dozen as Sounds Snap Skid

Nashville Beats Memphis to End Seven-Game Losing Streak

Much respect to Josh Lindblom for what he's done with the Sounds, like, seriously. Maybe it's the lack of any media coverage on the team, but not a single quote expressing displeasure with his situation.

By the way, except for an occasional Timber Rattler story that sneaks by firewall/subscription blocks, the lack of newspaper/TV coverage on all four affiliates is evident more than ever. The Sounds, even years ago, were empty in this regard. Biloxi TV is showing their bandwagon nature with the team down this year, and nothing at all from Zebulon, Carolina.

Thank goodness for the wonderful Wisconsin coverage from Kyle Lobner, including the postgame podcasts he joins Chris Mehring on.

Box: ACL Brewers Gold 5, ACL Mariners 3, seven innings

No small feat beating the Seattle club, now 27-10

Heck of a stateside debut for 19-year-old Venezuelan RHP Miguel Segura, stranded one of two runners, then tossed three scoreless, walking one while fanning four.

CF Hedbert Perez singled, walked, and stole a base as his OPS climbed to .978.

RF Eduarqui Fernandez (.917 OPS in August) as he was 2-for-3 with a walk here.

20-year-old Dominican native 3B Alberis Ferrer has somewhat quietly had a nice 2021., .889 OPS after this game. He hit his 3rd HR (9th of his three-year career, 323 AB's), and added a sacrifice fly.

0-for-2 with a walk in Game Two for 19-year-old switch-hitting SS Kaylan Nicasia, the 16th round pick out of a Florida high school. Nicasia is a native of The Netherlands.

Box: ACL Brewers Blue 6, ACL Dodgers 4

Blue trailed 4-2 after four, but were just fine after that point.

By far the highlight of 6'5" 19-year-old rookie Dominican RHP Edrian Robinson, as he stranded a runner, then tossed three scoreless, four strikeouts and no walks.

2021 competitive balance pick 2B Tyler Black had walked twice when Toby made this observation, he would go on to walk a 3rd time as he reached base in all five plate appearances. Black stole two bases but was also picked off first in the 8th.

18-year-old C Jeferson Quero (the DH in this game) on base thrice - doubled, singled, and was HBP.
