In limited time, Escobar has shown that you can’t just plug someone in at 1B without having some problems. While his toss there wasn’t horrible, and Woodruff should have handled it, it was behind him and messed up what should have been an easy out.
Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Lots of pitches for Woody…..going to need the pen today

Yeah, too, bad. I'm sure CC was hoping for at least 6

This game is going to be a long one at this rate

Just one of those situations where he had a long break after the 1st, a missed defensive play, and started to labor with a high pitch count in the inning. Seems like he's just going to throw fastballs to get out of this.

It looks like Woodruff is really struggling with the heat. Strange.

That happened to me once in high school. Middle of the summer, 90+ degrees at noon. During the first two innings, I thought I might pass out. My dad brought me ice water-soaked towels to wrap around my neck in the dugout. Fortunately, I pushed through and felt fine once I got to the third. Ended up pitching five of the seven innings because we were kicking ass and there was no reason to go more in that heat.
