Yelich batting leadoff tonight -

I mean, he gets on base just fine. Might as well try it.

Out of the starting nine for Game 2, Yelich seems to make the most sense. Counsell was likely picking from Yelich, Peterson, or Urias to bat leadoff: Yelich has the highest OBP of the three. Maybe he draws a couple walks and steals a base ahead of Adames, Narvaez, and Escobar.

The Cubs opting for a split double-header is typical. Clearly would have had a much better shot with back to back games. Gotta milk those gate receipts. [sarcasm]Not much TV money to go around.[/sarcasm]

Yeah when it's one of these terrible 7 inning double headers, a split double header is especially awful. Should be one ticket for the whole thing.

should be fun to see what Ashby has. He really got the worst of everything out of the way. would be a shame if he’s effectively wild and hits wisdom/ Contreras in between k’s.

I wonder if guys shower in between games. I hope so. It's like a sauna out there.

Seems like this potential weather threat could have been avoided by simply scheduling the double-header back to back rather than a split as others touched upon.

Do the Cubs ever make good decisions in regard to scheduling games in relation to weather reports? Do they have access to the Internet and basic meteorologic resources available within?

Isn't there some crazy stat that shows we win over 50% of the games when Adames gets a hit? Feeling good about this one.

Also, this Cubs lineup would barely be allowed in a Spring Training split squad game.
