2021-08-08: Giants (Cueto) at Brewers (Anderson) [Brewers lose, 5-4 -- Anderson exits with calf cramping; Misplays cost the Crew down the stretch]

Yikes, guys, looking a little “lick a stamp and mail it in” the first two innings

I agree. Not looking like they have much fight today. Happy with one win I guess.

but it's not like every guy suddenly forgot every piece of advice he gave

Yes it was, but I think he’s commenting on your premise.

Ah yeah well when guys hit long fly outs to the wall with 2 outs in the 9th I usually feel sort of lucky, like we dodged a bullet. Just me I guess he certainly should have caught it.

Would’ve been cool if one of you couch managers, just one, could have said something about bringing JBJ in before Garcia’s miscue last night. All this 20/20 hindsight is silly on what was a ball that should have been caught anyway. It hung up forever. It wasn’t a play that required a gold glover. It was a colossal mess up by a guy who has been solid in the field. The play he made on Yaz’ liner in the same inning was really good.

Or in any other game ever…. No one is talking about getting Garcia out of the game.

No need to earn a first round matchup with the Dodgers…

Well we could always get a wild card matchup too. Those are always fun

Probably down to five games after today. Big ten day road trip coming up

It’s crazy how different Cueto’s mechanics are from pitch to pitch.

Huge body turn pre pitch, no body turn at all, slide step, high leg kick, goofy pause in his leg kick to Anderson. He literally changed his delivery every pitch that inning.

Definitely keeps hitters off balance.

As weird as this sounds, I think Cueto’s occasionally extra delayed delivery might allow Yelich to time his swing mechanics better than he has been the majority of this year [and last].

I feel like Yelich is going to get ahold of one against Cueto.

Also, it’s something Ethan Small does a fair amount of (albeit not the body twisting part), so we’ll likely see a lot more of that varied timing technique soon.

Not just “at Night” anymore.

Wow, Narvy got all of that one.

Edit: After watching how truly bad Narvaez looked last season it has been a pleasure to watch him be the exact opposite this season.

Rather lead the league in that.
