Both losses this week were directly related to the short-handed bullpen situation.

This has nothing to do with a short bullpen much less "directly related."

That is patently false.

They could have won the game if Garcia hadn’t misplayed the fly ball, but even that situation would not have come up if the Brewers had the bullpen they thought they had just 8 days ago. Maybe they would have lost anyway with everyone in their regular roles, but when you have to go into the late innings and extra innings with guys who probably wouldn’t be on the roster except for the Covid issues, the short bulletin has a lot to do with the outcome.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Brewers really have a tough schedule for August with12 home and 16 away. They need to make hay against the Cubs and Pirates because the rest is tough. And with the current state of this bullpen we'll see what's left of them after this month. Seriously, trying to win games with guys off the waiver wire and cheap trades is a tough go. But the CDC has been warning about this Delta variant coming for some time.

I look forward to the day when we can look back on the Sal Romano experiment and laugh. Today is not that day (and I realize he was far from the only problem in this game), but the day will come at some point.

That is the only observation I want to make at this time.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

The playing the infield up last inning was a major mistake by Counsell. These are the types of games that the Brewers are going to play in October. Need him to kinda hone in on the strategy stuff.

It was a terrible move and not a peep from the Brewer telecast. Bases loaded, no outs, you concede one run when you start the bottom of the inning with a runner on 2nd. In fact you should always concede the first run. One run shouldn't beat you. Posey hit a routine double play grounder.
