Geez Louise, 18-year-old Dominican RHP Patricio Aquino.

Four starts, 16 IP, 8 H, 7 BB, 4 HBP, 25 K's, 0.00 ERA - Kid can dodge bullets.

Four Cerveceros had extra-base hits in the game, including 18-year-old rookie Venezuelan RF Jose Gonzalez, who doubled twice and added an outfield assist. He sports an .877 OPS after 44 AB's.

Otherwise forgettable game for the T-Rats, but Reifert has been dealing. Given it seems like I'm going to be making him the prospect poll's version of Mr. Irrelevant, since the calendar flipped to July, he has 20 innings, 10 hits, 1 earned run, 8 walks and 33 strikeouts. Walks are still a touch high, but everything else has been dominant.

Toledo Comes Back From a Five-Run Deficit to Win

Checks to see who was victimized in the four-run Mud Hens 8th. It was RHP R.J. Alvarez. Nothing personal, but not a 40-man impact, so a bit of a shrug. Sorry, R.J.

Pre-Game Media Notes

Wiemer Wallops 2-Run HR & Grand Slam in 8-3 Win

Joey Wiemer homered twice and Michele Vassalotti struck out a career high nine in Carolina’s 8-3 victory

Mudcats still on pace to be playoff-bound, which has not happened since their affiliation with the Brewers (2017).

So let's first bring you back to Thursday --

VIDEO Tweet via @BrewersPD: Joey Wiemer had a night

VIDEO Tweets via the Sounds:

Joey picks up where he left off

Take Two: Gabe Holt on the front end steals second (also an error on the second baseman). Noah Campbell steals home.

(I get confused, front end vs. back end on this play.)

No K's in "Vassalotti", but this says otherwise

Cam in the 8th

Slam - The Tweets says "No words", but we can hear Greg Young. So we do have words. Enjoy. (Greg's excellent, but hey, it's all about Joey.)

Box: ACL Mariners 9, ACL Brewers Blue 3, seven innings

18-year-old (a true 18, May) Venezuelan SS Jheremy Vargas on base all three times up, ,913 OPS, 63 AB's. Just 3-for-6 in SB attempts, though - that'll come.

Home run #4 in just 46 AB's for 19-year-old switch-hitter Erys Bautista, DH'ing here. His other three came in one game. He hit four in 206 AB's as a 17-year-old in the DSL in 2019.

Box: ACL Brewers Gold 11, ACL Angels 10

Walk-off single in a two-run rally by pinch-hitter Oswel Leones was the only hit in the frame. Big help from two Angel errors.

First-round CF Sal Frelick was a home run shy of a cycle in the 105 degree heat - 4-for-5, 2 R, 3 RBI. Frelick is 7-for-12 and 2-for-2 in SB attempts.

Hedbert Perez was somehow 0-for-5 here (run scored), but @BrewersPD captured the video of his amazing road game efforts from Thursday night.

19-year-old RF Eduarqui Fernandez stole three bases, now 20-for-25 in attempts in his two-year pro career.
