From Adam McCalvy:

For those asking why the Brewers wouldn't activate Yelich from the COVID-IL since he's eligible: He went 10 days without picking up a bat. Given the back issues earlier this year, they feel it is best to run him through several days of BP before he plays a game.

Not just “at Night” anymore.

Usually I have some belief that a pro baseball team has a chance to beat anyone

But I don’t know if I can follow the reds games this weekend. I honestly don’t think the pirates will win one game. They are just that bad

Best to just assume that the Reds will sweep the Pirates and consider it a gift if they lose one. They aren’t fooling around with the Pirates pitching staff. 7 runs in 2 innings last night and 7 in the first tonight.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Which makes the ten days more like 12-13 days, if they have to isolate. I’m sure the pitchers will need some time as well. I’ve got covid now, and I was told I wasn’t allowed to exercise. Some tough days a-coming’ for the Brewers

I suppose we should be grateful the Pirates are not teasing us by being competitive only to lose in walk off fashion.

No Houser is still on the active roster for whatever reason…….

They did this with Strickland too. My only guess is they try to wait a day hoping for a false positive and to test out of it with negatives. Unfortunately, that's a very slim chance.

13 games left with the pirates is going to be hard to watch

The reds might win every one of those

I'll take the under on that

Give me the odds and I will take that bet

I bet you can make a ton of money on that. Pittsburgh is not a professional baseball team after dumping everyone

Seemed like they did the Pittsburgh thing and screwed that up by going for a bunch of AAAA players rather than legit prospects. Might be good enough to steal a couple.

Even if you assume 90% win rate for Cincy (no) the Pirates are going to win 1 or 2.

Would the Brewers go undefeated if they played Nashville 13 times?
"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006
