Per Jeff Passan…

Bryant to SF, source tells, ESPN.

And Robert Murray…

The San Francisco Giants are in agreement on a deal to acquire Kris Bryant from the Chicago Cubs, according to sources familiar with the situation.

Not just “at Night” anymore.

Return is Alexander Canario and Caleb Killian. Canario is a 21 year old OF ranked #9 in the Giants system. Kilian is a RHP ranked #30. Seems light for Bryant.

I'm going to go out on a completely uninformed limb and state that the Brewers had the best offer on the table for Bryant, and they chose a lesser deal with the Giants to save face, which is why it took them until so late to pull the trigger.

Well, no one can say that the NL West teams aren't trying to win. It's funny that the Brewers can (hopefully) slide in with the #2 seed, and the East winner will get #3, so the three mammoths of the west will beat each other up so only one can make it to the NLCS.

Has any team ever unloaded as many of its most visible players in two days as the Cubs are doing now?

Not that I can remember.

The Marlins won the World Series twice and then immediately disassembled those teams, but those guys didn't have the long legacies in Miami like these Cubs players.

Hendricks, Heyward and Contreras are the only players left from their World Series winner.

It might be less Cubby at AmFam for the next few years.
