Trade Deadline Rumors

If you look at all the moves as a collective whole, good trades. At the deadline, way underwhelming so far.

I mean we got our bat (Escobar) and a couple relievers (Curtiss, Norris) . I know some people will be disappointed and I guess I'm a little underwhelmed but it's basically the exact moves I figured would happen.

Its a decent deadline. If you are disappointed, it is because you wanted a massive player at the deadline. To me, there just weren't a ton of those players this year that seemed like great fits for the Brewers.

I am glad I didn't feel like we 'needed' one of those big time players.

I think seeing Cain come back and look good, Rowdy smashing, and Urias looking good at 3B told Stearns that the one Escobar acquisition would be good enough. I think in the end he will be right but time will tell.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Basically what I expected last week- a bat and two relievers. Maybe I hoped for bigger name relievers like Rogers or Hudson, but they got a LHP and RHP. Excited about Curtiss, willing to give the org the benefit of the doubt on Norris, as they've worked wonders with similar situations in the past.

Escobar was basically the type of bat/name I would have envisioned as well. Yeah, bigger names out there, but they weren't coming here barring something completely unforseen.

Jorge Soler traded to Braves

completed deals still tricking in

Well I hope he can’t join the team for a couple of days during this current series with the Braves, he’s just starting to heat up and has already killed the Brewers once in the past week.

Not just “at Night” anymore.

I was hoping we were done facing him this year. Has 3 HR in 4 games against the Brewers.

Not going to lie. Horrible trade deadline for Stearns. We have an opportunity to win the World Series and Escobar…who I wanted…was the only guy we got? Really? Trevor Plouff…go walk a plank.

You... you did see the ML forum today, right?

This is why I never believe "sources" who have Brewers news.

I saw “Jorge Soler traded to Br” and immediately got excited. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve read stuff on television over the years that starts out that way and I immediately think Brewers.

So just because you are not totally familiar with the relievers they traded for today, they don't exist?

I'm ready to hear who we were in on but couldn't figure out a deal with.

I'd bet a lot of money that we talked to the Twins today. A lot of money.

That’s where I’d put my money as well.

Not just “at Night” anymore.

Just pretend they got Adames today instead of back in May

Trevor Plouffe should never be considered a reliable journalist or source again. Guy pounded the table for weeks claiming the brewers were gonna make these huge moves. I’m totally fine with the deadline we had because I thought the prices were insane but he couldn’t have been more wrong.

How crazy that the end results of Stearns trades this season have been:

Willy Adames

Rowdy Tellez

John Curtiss

Daniel Norris

Eduardo Escobar

for

Alberto Ciprion

Payton Henry

JP Feyereisen

Drew Rasmussen

Reese Olson

Cooper Hummel

Only Escobar and Norris are rentals. Not too mention Hunter Strickland too.

Am I missing something??? That's some next level stuff right there.

Willy Adames was a better acquisition than anyone we could have gotten this week. Stearns unlike a lot of these GMs has been working for months so he wouldn't have to scramble out of desperation at the last minute and give away our best prospects for rentals.
