So the Brewers drafted at least two of Counsell’s sons friends this year (Binelas & Riggio). :laughing

Gee, why is the Brewers farm system so awful?

That seems pretty unfair. Both those guys are upper end prospects with considerable upside and national buzz. They weren't drafted as favors.

It isn't strange to think that may have played into it though...

Probably not, but it sure could have been a factor.

Yep, I’m excited to watch both of them develop (assuming Riggio also signs).

Not just “at Night” anymore.

Maybe so but a little harder justifying the Samuel Mendez pick.

Yeah, that was odd. Bet it's the first time a 28 year old basketball player was taken in the MLB draft. He seems like a guy that you sign to a minors free agent deal. Not that a 20th round pick is a huge gamble, but it was odd.

Does Houser ever have a nice easy 6 inning outing?? The guy hasn't been terrible but he is not fun to watch and is a rally waiting to happen.

He's been alright, just not nearly as good as many think.

People point out that that hitting is down throughout baseball to rationalize poor hitting, but the same logic applies in reverse. A 4.00 ERA isn't what it was in 2019.

Houser remains, probably, a better reliever than a starter. As a starter, he's a solid back end guy.

It's a benefit of hindsight argument, but BruisedCrew was right saying this should have been Woodruff's start tonight. Followed by Burnes and Lauer I guess. Houser would match up much better against the Royals.

I like Houser, but he doesn't have it tonight, and you can't make too many mistakes against this lineup without it coming back to bite you.
