2021-07-11: Reds (Castillo) at Brewers (Woodruff) [Brewers lose, 3-1 -- Crew hits a speed bump heading into the All Star Break]

For all the hand wringing of Pablo Reyes being on our 40 man, the Reds just had a guy with a .554 OPS pinch hit in the 7th inning of a tie game with the team that's 5 games up on them for the division lead. Every team has bottom filler at the bottom of their roster. Even the Mighty Cincinnati Reds.

Wouldn't be a Box outing without a walk.

And 3 K’s and another damn zero on the scoreboard. Just like he normally does. :laughing

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

I'm going to first guess it and say Box shouldn't be in there.

LOL, good call!

Is the constant negative energy thing a message board schtick, or is this really how you are in real life?

It's easier to be pessimistic because it doesnt hurt as bad when you(they) fail.

Box has an ERA under 3 and a 10.6 k per 9. I'm not sure why he gets so much negative jibber jabber here. He walks a few guys but his WHIP is decent and he generally does a pretty decent job for a 6th/7th inning guy.

Looks like you beat me to it. It makes so little sense

Boxberger has a whip of 1.13 and and era under 3. He has struck out something like 48 and 37 innings. Why on earth does he get so much hate on here?

Because even the Brewers have a lot of not so knowledgeable fans in their fan bases.

The guy has given up runs in like 6 of 40 appearances. It’s pretty much Hader territory.

"Here" Just isn't true. Perhaps a poster or two who hate on everybody. Keeps the board interesting and interactive, I guess.

Yeah the awful Boxberger. 2.89 ERA and 1.14 WHIP versus league averages for relievers of 4.14 and 1.33.

Pick up a power arm to fit in between Box and Williams and this pen is close to elite (if not elite if Sanchez and Cousins keep it going).

but it's not like every guy suddenly forgot every piece of advice he gave

Literally every time he comes in there are post(s) about how bad he is and how he will probably give up some runs

Growing up in the seventies and being a brewer and packer and badger fan it's almost a self-defense mechanism. After getting beat on enough you tend to expect the worst at the worst possible moment.
