You guys, that behind the base view where it looks like his foot is off (because it is and you can see him slam his foot back into the base while the tag is still being applied) is about as definitive as you can get.[/quote

Screenshot the video evidence of air in between his shoes and the bag

You don't need air between his shoe and the base when his foot slams back onto the base. A foot doesn't slam back onto the base unless it was off the base.

Define “slam” please. I see a foot slightly twist and reorient to maintain control of the bag. It never fully lifted off the bag as far as the evidence shows

There needs to be a safe zone after initial comtact with the base.

Not sure what you're saying here. Like, you shouldn't have to actually stay on the base?

Within limits, but yeah. You should be able to stay above the base after initial contact, and a fraction of an inch off shouldn't mean you're out. I really dislike treating the base like a deified object.

Yep. The spirit of the game is about running between two distances before the ball can beat you to that spot. it's not about whether you can sprint to a spot WELL before the ball gets there and then you have to also make sure that not even an eyelash can ever fit between your shoe or hand and the base while a tag is held on your back or leg. Obviously, there is a point where you can't be completely overslide the base while being tagged, but that Adames play was definitely NOT that case. Just stupid and not about baseball skill.

You comment on everything I post. What's your deal?

Sounds like I am not the only one that he stalks on the forum.

You both have a lot in common. But I’ve barely said a word to titletownking. He’s just grumpy his trade proposal was not good and I said so. Not sure why he’s got his undies in a bunch over it. There a lot of bad takes over in the proposal forum. I’ve had plenty.

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

I don't root against the Brewers as they have been my team since inception. However, I find it annoying when people are pure homers and never see things objectively whatsoever. Same with the Packers.

The fan police are the worst. See things as you want but don't blame others for not agreeing with your point of views.

The Foe button is a cool thing.

but it's not like every guy suddenly forgot every piece of advice he gave

Peterson has played way above expectations, but there have been 3-4 plays lately that Wong probably makes.

Wong is probably the best defensive second baseman in baseball so its unfair to compare the two.

Huh? It’s pretty fair to compare their abilities and say Wong gets us at least 3 extra outs in the past two weeks. I was in no way ripping on Peterson, more so pointing out what we’re missing with Wong out.

Part of not agreeing with everyone is also having some self awareness of how truly annoying you are with the constant repeating and negativity that you spread in this forum. On top of some really terribly, uneducated takes, this is why you get called out a lot. You’d think you’d see that and learn, but I think it is just either a part of your schtick or you’re just one of those people that don’t get it.

After messing around with it frame by frame, this is the closest I could come to a "definitive" view of his foot being off the bag, and it's not 100% definitive. His foot MIGHT be off the bag, it might not be. But it's not defining, IMO.

Another ridiculous in-game thread where posters love to act like they're MLB umpires and tell posters that "from their view" yadda, yadda, yadda.

It was a stupid call; just like it's been a weekend of stupid and bad calls. If you don't think so and you think it makes a less reactionary Brewer fan... congrats?! i don't get what you gain from it. It reminds me of the Milwaukee bartender who I argued with that took the position Mike Trout wasn't a great player. If you want to take a contrarian position, that's on you, just don't be a dick about it.

So his foot has to reorient to maintain control of the base but you guys are also complaining about Freeman blocking the base with his foot, in which case when he reorients his foot wouldn't be on the base.

I can't get a great view right now because I don't have a way to slow the video down but if his foot is blocking the base and he's trying to get his foot reoriented, it stands to reason that his foot would have to be off the base in this position to get it back on the base which is why you see his foot slam down to get back on the base.

Right, the dicks are the ones who say it wasn't a bad call, not the people questioning people's fandom because they don't think it was a bad call.
