It would be sweet to see the Crew burn the Reds with this decision. And listening to these guys talk up Miley so much, man, it would make it even sweeter

Alright, time for a 3-run ninth.

And, if not, Freddy and Woody still give you a good shot at winning the series.

It's hard to take four from a team. This is not a bad Reds team.

but it's not like every guy suddenly forgot every piece of advice he gave

Don’t see how you argue that call, you have to maintain contact with the base, he ended up 10 feet from it.
.

I guess if that is the rule. I think the rule needs to be changed though. I think intent and if an out was even possible needs to be considered. Kind of like interference on an uncatchable ball in football.

Imagine Giannis all of a sudden averaging like 12 points a game with no real explanation as to what happened to him?? Baseball is strange man.

Yelich never recovered from fouling the ball off his knee mentally or physically. He looks hesitant at the plate and doesn't even want to swing just hoping the pitcher will walk him.

Watching Yelich in today's game. Confidence is not there. He's weak minded and not strong at all. Like literally somebody on the team needs to call him soft and scrub get in his face shove him on his butt and tell him yep just a loser. Because I have no clue the way he's at the plate how to get him strong and angry.

Not sure what people are mad about. Adames slid over the bag by approximately 20 feet.

You gotta stay by the bag, he didn’t.

Doesn’t it still have to be a play where you have a chance for a double play? They had absolutely 0.0% chance at turning a double play there.

No being able to turn the DP has nothing to do with it. As I said previously, the Reds would have gotten the same call last night when Yelich overslid second but he didn't make the throw in that instance.

That’s dumb. I can’t imagine the rule was intended for plays like that. So you could have a play where the runner on first pulled a hammy and a the fielder fell over before picking up the ball while the batter was already standing on first and the runner from first hobbled over second base and it would be inference and both runners would be out? Dumb.

Edit: If that’s the rule, that’s the rule. But it’s a dumb rule.

The rule is fairly simple (sort of). Obviously any guy going into second on that type of play is trying to help break up a DP attempt. When the rule first changed to be more strict the general expectation of what an umpire would deem “interference” would be if the player was within reach of the base. That meant sliding so far one way you couldn’t even touch the base OR if you slide so hard you went over the bag to the point you could not reach it.

In Adame’s case he slid so hard into the base he ended up over the bag to the point his slide was deemed as not an attempt to get into the base and instead just trying to interfere. Because if one was trying to get into second safe they wouldn’t do cart wheels into the outfield grass.
