“Sorry man, not how it works. Hiura got to second because he had nothing to lose if it was caught or not. Jace would have had to wait unsure if it would be caught or not (less than two outs). Considering it was in RF behind first base he probably would have been halfway. After he didn’t get there Jace would have hustled to second.

Say it with me, simple really.

I can’t help you if you don’t think Jace gets to 3rd on that. Absolute waste of time arguing back and forth.

There’s no way, he has to wait to see if it’s caught. He has to scramble to second let alone third.

Not trying to be mean/condescending…but you really should read up on base running with less than two outs.

Jace getting to 3rd there is very far from certain. He would have had to bank on him not catching that ball pretty early considering that it didn’t bounce very far from him.

I can’t go back and change history to see, but I’m not sure he is getting to third there. I can for certain say he would have been nowhere even in the same zip code as home though.

“Not trying to be mean/condescending…” proceeds to be extremely condescending. I’ve watched baseball for over 30 years, your opinion is yours and mine is mine. Peace be with you.

Not sure what people are mad about. Adames slid over the bag by approximately 20 feet. You gotta stay by the bag, he didn’t.

It’s dumb, didn’t affect that play…but Adames decided to do cartwheels for some reason.

That Yelich contract is absolute money on fire already. Imagine how it's going to look in 5 years. We haven't even gotten into the extension part of it yet.

Blame Attanasio who gave him the contract without seeing if he would come back strong after the knee injury. I'm 100% convinced the extension was all ownership and Stearns had no say in the matter.

Doesn’t it still have to be a play where you have a chance for a double play? They had absolutely 0.0% chance at turning a double play there.

Of course, he technically violated the rule, but it was not going to be a DP, and he impacted the play zero. And went right at the bag...just hit it weird and lost balance.

I get why it's a DP, but baseball has an obsession with the letter of everything, and I think it's silly a lot, as in thia case.

I’m not sure of the full ruling. It’s it umpire judgement that coming off the base affected the outcome? Or is it automatically an out if he comes off?

Imagine Giannis all of a sudden averaging like 12 points a game with no real explanation as to what happened to him?? Baseball is strange man.

Yelich never recovered from fouling the ball off his knee mentally or physically. He looks hesitant at the plate and doesn't even want to swing just hoping the pitcher will walk him.

This has got to be the worst umpired series I have ever seen.

These guys are pretty terrible on the field, and it actually stuns me that Brian O’Nora’s offseason “legal trouble” didn’t lead to him at least being suspended a year if not fired altogether. MLB and the MLBUA (umpire association) continue to prove themselves to be a pretty spineless organizations.

Not just “at Night” anymore.

No being able to turn the DP has nothing to do with it. As I said previously, the Reds would have gotten the same call last night when Yelich overslid second but he didn't make the throw in that instance.

Screw him and screw human trafficking. Scum of the earth and I think we can all agree on that. At least I hope so.
