This sucks. We can't get You Tube here at UWGB (we are renting a student apartment here for 10 weeks this summer) so we won't be able to see this game. :angry

Huh? You can't get onto regular YouTube? You don't need YouTube TV to watch this one.

I suppose I could watch it on my phone or lap top but I'd rather sit on the couch and watch it on tv...

If your laptop has a HDMI port you can just plug that into the TV and watch it that way. That’s what I’ve been doing for most of the season with the way Sinclair and YoutubeTV have forced me to watch games this season :)

You could also cast it onto your TV from your phone or your laptop if you have a smart TV/wireless

Edit. This is probably redundant. If you have a smart TV it's probably got a YouTube app built in

Lauer is pitching this is an automatic loss

There would be something comical about us winning the first two games of this series after all the worries of Counsell not lining up his staff to take down the big bad Reds.

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Getting a low-cost streaming stick (i.e. Roku, Chromecast, Firestick) is an option too.

Not sure why it would be comical. Good pitching matchups don't guarantee wins and bad matchups don't guarantee losses, but some people would rather see the probabilities tilted in their favor when possible in important games against division rivals.

Tonight's game is the worst pitching matchup of the series for the Brewers (note: this does not mean the Brewers can't or won't win). They have trouble against left handed pitchers as evidenced on Sunday when they were dazzled by the Pirates Tyler Anderson. And while starting Lauer doesn't guarantee a loss, he is pretty clearly the least effective of the Brewers six starters. He was roughed up early in his previous start against the Reds. The Brewers may also be a little short in the bullpen tonight with Houser not getting out of the 5th yesterday and Williams and Hader pitching each of the last two days.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Using one start is never a good indicator or actually knowing what you’re talking about. The Brewers have been better offensively against left handed pitching this season according to their splits. And it would be comical, for me, to see Lauer pitch well enough for a win tonight after all the hoopla about the Reds and us going on this huge long losing streak.

The occasional day game during the week on YouTube - fine, but a Friday night game? Yuck. My biggest issue with it is that many times it appears my feed is delayed by at least 30-60 seconds, especially later in the game. I may just decide to listen to this one on the radio.

What are the stats for the Brewers against left handed starters this season?

It doesn’t seem that they have faced all that many this season, especially against teams in the division, so maybe that’s why ones like Sunday’s stand out for me. I also recall that they didn’t face any lefty starters for the first couple of weeks of the season.

In recent weeks, in addition to Anderson on Sunday, they struggled to score in two games against Caleb Smith of the DBacks, even though the Brewers were able to win those in low scoring games. There was also the guy Bubic of the Royals who shut them out for 6 innings on one hit and Kim of the Cardinals who held them to 1 run in 5 plus innings.

Wow golden opportunity to break open the division before the all star break, tonight would be key to getting a sweep. I like the youtube games since I don't have whatever the Brewers are broadcast on. I do a lot of radio/gamecast games this season which isn't so bad.

Vs. LHP: 216/.318/.387/.705

Vs. RHP: .221/.310/.381/.690

That isn’t the question. I am talking about how the Brewers have performed against left handed starting pitchers as compared to right handed starters. And the issue is scoring runs against those starters, not a few points difference in BA, OBA, and SLG.

Maybe the answer is that the Brewers have trouble scoring against all starters, but it sure seems that there have been some mediocre lefties who have had great starts against them.

I don't really understand, why is this a big deal?

It’s 2021, if you haven’t figured out streaming, then you probably haven’t tried to figure out streaming. I can almost garuntee you have the capability of watching the game on your TV without any delay.
