Carlos Luna looks to continue his dominance (0.76 ERA in 23.2 innings) and Leugim Castillo aims to extend his 12-game hitting streak for the Timber Rattlers:

If the Brewers consider Luna to have any big league potential at all they need to get him up to AA to see how he fares. They've got a decision to make on him this offseason and simply getting guys out at high-A isn't probably going to give them enough data to make it.

Late posting of Sounds’ lineup for Game 2 of their doubleheader, as Blaine Hardy gets back to starting:

LHP Jackson Gillis, who appeared in a number of games for A Carolina this season, underwent Tommy John surgery yesterday and will be out until late in the 2022 season.

Brutal. Best wishes on rehab to Jackson.

I am guessing that nearly everyone that visits the Link Report regularly also closely tracks our Minor League Transaction Thread, pinned to the top of this same forum. If not, you likely want to begin. Not every transaction / injury will be repeated/mentioned within a daily Link Report.

Really good pitching performances last night by the Rattlers against a team that has given their pitchers some fits this year (I swear it seems like half the runs Reese Olson has given up came against QC). Luna obviously still has a sub-1.00 ERA. Chirino has been throwing well, and Reifert seems to be settling in after a rough start at Wisconsin. The walks are trending down while the strikeouts stay high. As for the opponents, I am guessing the Royals weren’t expecting Lacy to be this erratic.

AUDIO via the Rattler Radio Soundcloud: "The Timber Rattlers held the Quad Cities River Bandits to two hits and had just five of their own on Thursday night. Wisconsin picked up the win 4-1 behind the pitching of Carlos Luna and some timely hitting from LG Castillo. Chris Mehring & Kyle Lobner go through the game, the notes, and some boxscore oddities. Castillo and Pitching Development / Bullpen Coach Michael O'Neal join the podcast with comments from the clubhouse, too.

Box: ACL Brewers Blue 7, ACL White Sox 2

Now 1-2 on the season...

Also, congrats to Jesus Chirinos on having already doubled his career home run total just three games into the season. Seems like he has been in the system for awhile, but still just 19.

State-side debut for 20-year-old 3B Alberis Ferrer

On the mound, lots of newbies:

Professional debut for 17-year-old Venezuelan 6'3" RHP Yujanyer Herrera

First Brewer appearance for former Mets farmhand RHP Nate Peden

Stateside debut for 18-year-old Dominican RHP Alexander Cornielle

First Brewer appearance for another former Mets farmhand, RHP Christian Tripp
