Batting 3rd and playing center field for the Biloxi Shuckers: Garrett Mitchell. Andy Otero also makes his 3rd start of the year and Yeison Coca gets a taste of AA ball:

Weston Wilson has really transformed himself into something special. That's his 11th home run in AAA this season, with an OPS of .952 while playing 1B/SS/2B/RF/3B/LF.

This is a guy who wasn't even invited to the Alternate Site with other AAA players initially, instead breaking camp with the youngins in Arizona. I'll call this a light echo of Jake Cousins.

Is Andy Otero the next Junior Guerra? Sure seems like he's going to be a 29/30 year old rookie. Another great start for Biloxi.

Was just looking at his career. Was it derailed by injuries? He always had good numbers, but was out of affiliated ball for years

So much goodness within both the box and game summary, but it was another at-best uneven two-inning outing for LHP Aaron Ashby, who surrendered this HR to tie the game at 5-5 in the 6th

AUDIO via the Rattler Radio Soundcloud: "The Timber Rattlers split a doubleheader with the Quad Cities River Bandits on July 7. They scored four in the bottom of the seventh for a walkoff win in game one, but gave up two unearned runs in game two and lost 2-1. Chris Mehring and Kyle Lobner discuss the events of the evening and bring Manager Matt Erickson in for some insight."

Andy Otero (LHP) is my pick for the most exciting of Monday’s signings. He last pitched stateside in 2015 for the (then Atlanta-affiliated) Carolina Mudcats. He comes with an injury history, a solid slider, and a dominating curveball. Across six seasons in the minor leagues, he produced a 2.53 ERA with a 1.15 WHIP. He returned to pitching in the international leagues in 2019 and has worked in 45 innings since then. In those scant appearances, he produced a 1.20 ERA with a 0.95 WHIP, struck out forty, and allowed just one home run.

Otero comes from a good performance with Chiriquí in the 2020 Major Baseball National Championship and with the Estrellas Orientales and Águilas Cibaeñas in the Lidom (Professional Baseball League of the Dominican Republic).

Before signing with the Brewers, the 29-year-old left-hander had reported to the preseason with the Lions of Yucatán ahead of the start of the 2021 season of the Mexican Baseball League (LMB) .
