Burnes and deGrom facing off in a 7-inning game is extra fascinating in that the bullpens may factor into it very little. If there was ever a game to find a way to scratch across a run first, it’s probably this one.

I can see it now: deGrom retires the first 21 in order, notching 14 strikeouts. But Burnes is almost as good and we head to the eighth 0-0. With the ghost runner on second, Hiura drops down a sac bunt to move him to third. On an 0-2 pitch, a high fastball gets away from deGrom and gets to the screen, allowing the ghost runner to score. deGrom strikes out the last 2 hitters, but Hader comes in to strike out the side. deGrom's final line: 8 IP, 16 K, retires all 24 hitters, and loses 1-0.

Slightly surprised Hiura is in the starting lineup today just because I’d put the odds of him catching up to a deGrom fastball in the upper half of the zone at an extremely low probability.

What has better odds Keston hitting a deGrom fastball in the upper half or someone on here winning the Powerball?

Brewers fans are well aware of the injury problems the Crew has had, but the Mets have possibly been hit harder. They are getting some of their injured players back and are going to be even more formidable the rest of the way.
Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

This is on BSWI and ESPN? Turned on BSWI expecting to see the pre-game. There is a golf program on and ESPN has Wimbledon until 3pm.

edit: actually ESPN2 has Wimbledon until 3, ESPN has it until 1:30. I'm assuming it will be on BSWI with no pre-game?

well that was unexpected
