For all the scoreboard watchers out there, the Reds just gave up 4 in the 9th to lose to the Royals, so the Brewers gained a 1/2 game in the standings. The Reds pen is a major Achilles heel.

 

Wow that’s brutal. Meanwhile, the Cubs are an absolute train wreck right now. Gave up 15 runs tonight in another loss.

The Reds were winning 6-1 entering the bottom of the 8th inning. They lost 7-6.

 

The Reds lineup can sometimes hit, and they have OK starting pitching, but I'm not going to take them seriously as a contender until they get the pen sorted out – and remember, that supposed "contender" traded their closer and top relief pitcher last offseason. They are a pretender right now, as they've been the last several seasons when many (including some here) attempted to crown them.
