2021 NBA Finals: Milwaukee Bucks vs Phoenix Suns BUCKS WIN THE TITLE!!!!

homer
The Bucks certainly aren't putting Lopez on them on purpose. Phoenix is one of the heaviest switching teams in the League. Lopez has been doing fairly well at it so far.

The Bucks are doing the switching, that's their choice not Phoenix.

They're down 8 on the road in Game 1. It's fine. They will have bad and good games in this series, hopefully one more good than bad.

They're not having a bad game, that's the problem. They're just not as good.

Lopez is playing like butt. Holiday is 2/8 shooting. Middleton is 5/13. There's definitely things they could be doing better.

^This. I dont think the Bucks get swept, but it does feel like the classic, "one step forward, two steps back" kind of game. Defensively, I can live with the mid-range and paint shots. Offensively, they look incapable.

He meant Phoenix is a big pick-n-roll offense, which forces the switch. If not, they love the intermediate open 2pt shots. Pick your poison.

There's always things you could be doing better. Having to play the game of our life for the next 4 out of 6 games doesn't bode especially well for our chances of winning this series.

I don't know what games you guys are watching but the Bucks look far from good thus far. How many shots from within 3 feet did we miss in the first half?

They don't move the ball, screen, or pick and roll to give Middleton good looks. They don't iso Brook when he has a clear mismatch in the paint. Holiday is not pisting up Paul. Just frustrating.

They did pick and roll with Middleton the first few minutes, but then yes suddenly stopped. And it was working to a large degree.

I feel like slower possessions would do us a lot of good.

I don't think they have to do that but they probably need to get Lopez off the floor for 24+ minutes per game to start with. He's getting exposed defensively. Shoot better (Not great, just better). Hope that Giannis continues to improve his knee. WIll all those happen? I doubt it. It is what it is. The Nets series was declared over about 74 times, so I'm gonna watch the games before I just give up and find other things to do.

Annnnnddd the intermediate shots start killing us...

It amazes me there were people that thought the Suns were only here because they got lucky facing teams with injury problems. This is a very good team just as I expected. With Giannis or without the Bucks were going to have a hard time making this series competitive.

We can doom and gloom this all we want, if the Bucks hit 60% of those bunnies early on, the whole complexion of this game is different.

Maybe. Or maybe it would have just taken Phoenix a little longer to build this lead, who knows.

We're down 10 instead of 16?

It doesn't work that way. The whole flow of the game changed if we hit some of those. We've also shot 6 free throws. I know you are a hard swinging pendulum guy but I promise we don't lose each game by 20.

And I'm sorry but no, the Bucks are not playing well.

Yep. Phoenix second-best in the playoffs at mid-range shot percentage. Bucks second-worst at defending against it.

I'm not as doom and gloom as some on here right now. My biggest issue is this pick and roll. Imagine if in football a team kept running a 10 yard out to the same player and the team converted it 90 percent of the time...and the defense didn't make any adjustment to try and stop said play. It's literally the exact same thing every time down the court and the bucks aren't doing anything different. Force a switch, dribble to your spot, easy jumper from 12-15 feet. Lopez needs to play less or we need to switch less.
