Williams with a well deserved win. He pitched great.

I was hoping Boxberger would get it. Nothing demonstrates the absurdity of the Win quite like when a reliever blows the lead, but then gets picked up by the offense in the next half inning so they get credited with the W.

Adames enjoying his time as a Brewer

Willy Adames on his first taste of Brewers-Cubs: "It was crazy, man. I was enjoying the whole game. I was telling the guys, like, 'Wow, this is amazing. This the big leagues. This is unbelievable.' I told Avi, 'Bro, I'm living the dream."

Has there been any articles or analysis done on why JBJ is struggling so badly?

If you check out his StatCast or FanGraphs page he has pretty consistently produced good results vs fastballs & struggled vs breaking/off speed.

For whatever reason (batted 9th mostly?) he still got a steady diet of fastballs with the Red Sox.

About 59% fastballs for +55.6 batting runs vs about 41% breaking/off speed for -43.1 batting runs with change ups (-24.2 batting runs) the main culprit.

This year he is getting way more breaking/off speed, about 51% vs 49% fastballs, with the fastball results bad (-4.6), but still better than breaking/off speed (-9.7).

This Adames quote was pretty great as well…

Willy Adames, who played in the World Series last season, had this to say about tonight's 14-4 win over the Cubs:

"It felt amazing. That was probably one of the best wins I’ve ever been a part of. And this is just the regular season. That felt like the playoffs."

Not just “at Night” anymore.

That Miguel Sanchez changeup is a really interesting pitch because he throws it really hard at 90-91 and I just don't know how hitters are going to square that thing up consistently. I don't know how anyone one of us can know but I wonder if that pitch was taught to him by the Brewers like Feyereisen's power changeup. No clue how he puts that much resistance on the ball and it is only a couple ticks lower than his fastball.

Just got home from.the game. Usually stay far away from Cubs games but received free tickets and it was a great atmosphere. Nail biter most of the way but the 8th inning was the most fun inning I have ever been at. Cubs fans left in a hurry.

Loving that Adames trade more and more. He really seems like the type of kid who could be a standout and a team leader for a long time. He's got a similar fun-loving personality to Arcia, but has so far put up the production to back it up and keep the "no fun on the field" crowd at bay.

Really nice to see Urias playing well, too, both offensively and especially in the field. With the great defense and somewhat surprising power he's shown this year, I almost wonder if we can't start thinking of him as this team's 3B of the present and future?
