2021-06-27: Rockies (González) at Brewers (Lauer) [Brewers win, 5-0 -- Lauer throws 6 scoreless IP w/ 2 hits & 6 Ks; Hiura’s bat gets going; Crew completes sweep]

Ryan Weber is still on the team. I had to look it up since I wasn't sure. Does he get the 9th, or do they not want to risk needing to get Hader up?

Hader last pitched Friday. I don't think we'll see him today... I hope

Exit velocity hasn't exactly been the problem with Hiura as he's well inside the top quartile in that category. He just needs to make more consistent contact, which he has been doing since his latest recall. Today's numbers were huge though.

Brewers made their move in the weak part of their schedule. Going from three down to potentially three up

Let’s see what happens when the schedule starts to ramp up a little

While I agree that things will obviously get tougher, the good news is the Brewers are 14-6 in their games against teams currently with a better than .500 record.

Not just “at Night” anymore.

Let’s hope that continues.

They still have a couple series with pirates coming up too so it isn’t a gauntlet.

If the brewers can start scoring runs they will be tough to beat

That seven straight games against the reds are going to be annoying

The Brewers have scored 132 runs over the past month, the 7th best mark in baseball over that period and 3rd best in the National League behind only the Giants (141 runs) and Reds (134 runs). BTW, the Cardinals are dead last at 82 runs scored over that same timeframe.

Things are looking up a bit!

Seemed like the cardinals fell apart when flaherty went down

I wonder what their record is after he got hurt

Flaherty's last start was may 31st.

The Cardinals are 7-16 in June

The Cardinals biggest problem is scoring runs. In 23 June games, they have scored 67 runs. 2.9 runs per game is gonna make it tough to win games.

Grand slam for the dodgers! 4-0 lead for them. Keep that lead and let a struggling cubs team, they would be 4-9 in their last 13, take the long trip from la to Milwaukee to face Peralta, woodruff and burnes!

Another HR for the dodgers. 6 to 0! Unreal to think where the Cubs would be without their bullpen and the bullpen did not look good coming into the year. They are getting career years from 3 or 4 guys

Yup. They've already been scoring 4.47 runs per game in the five weeks since trading for Adames & have won the most games in MLB since then.

They don't need to start, they need to keep it up (& stay healthy).

Take care of business against the Cubs & push that division lead to four or six games.
