2021-06-27: Rockies (González) at Brewers (Lauer) [Brewers win, 5-0 -- Lauer throws 6 scoreless IP w/ 2 hits & 6 Ks; Hiura’s bat gets going; Crew completes sweep]

Eye Black
If Lauer could stay away from the blow up inning he would be a fine back of the rotation starter. His splits by inning are weird. He is actually really good in the 3-5th inning, ok in the 1st but brutal in the 2nd and pretty bad in the 6th.

Manfred should push for 15 seconds between pitches if he’s series about pace of play. Lauer isn’t even coming close to acceptable pace. Snooze fest

Who was The hitter for the Indians back in the late seventies and '80s that was a walking talking rain delay by himself with the big elaborate ritual between every pitch that involved resetting both his batting gloves and two or three practice swings.

I'm thinking it was Mike hargrove.

Yes, the Human Rain Delay was his nickname.

Not sure if this has been discussed to death in the past, but I've been enjoying Tim Dillard in the booth.

Seems strange to say but the team got better when Kane and Shaw went on the DL

Yeah, the hype around them exceeded both of their production levels

I missed 2019 Keston.

I missed 2019 Keston.

Indeed. If this is the start of 2019 Keaton showing up and hitting #7, that’s a very deep lineup.

Who says he hits #7?

But nice to have him back in the swing of things.

Now, if only major league pitchers can re-discover the courage to give some very crushable pitches to Yelich... I swear, watching some of those ABs reminds me of watching punters or kickoff specialists just pooch it away from Devin Hester back in the day.

HAVE SOME (BLEEP-BLEEPING) COURAGE!!!!

One reason I have no sympathy for hitters was shown in that AB by Tapia. Down 5, needing base runners, two strikes, the batter with the worst (negative) launch angle in the majors, and he swings so hard he could have actually hurt himself.
