2021 ECF. Bucks vs Hawks: UPDATE - - - BUCKS IN SIX

DuWayne Steurer
I would never be so arrogant to believe I can do any basketball related thing better than any basketball player, much less a star.

But it really is not that difficult to at least get rim on a free throw.

I played one season of HS basketball and averaged 1.5 ppg. My single game high was 7 points, and I did that by going 5 for 5 from the stripe, and I was a BAD shot. I don't ever remember airballing a free throw. I never had the pressure of an ECF on me though.

Only one season, but a season for all times. You didn't score a ton but you made all the little plays all over the court that don't show up in the box score.

Pretty sure we're going to lose this series in 6 games if Giannis doesn't play again.

I could see us still figuring it out without Giannis, not a great chance, but a chance with the last 2/3 at home, and a hobbled Young. But that would mean Giannis is seriously hurt, so the Finals would be a waste of time.

Maybe if Young doesn't play again either. We'll lose the Final, but I'd still rather at least get there than not and have that experience for us.

I don't think anyone thinks losing Giannis lost this game. 18 minutes is a long time though, we probably would have lost the last game without Giannis for the last 18 minutes. And a bunch of other ones.

I don't care really. If Giannis is destined to be limping around for a month or can't go, we are toast.

I think the Bucks would still have a shot this series without Giannis if Young is back. They played some nice games this year without Giannis. The balance would swing to ATL, but I wouldn't call the series over. But again, unless it meant Giannis was back and 85% for the Finals, I wouldn't really care. Completely sucks the joy out of it.

I did some research on bone bruises and by the looks of it you're looking at a month minimum to heal so Young may be out for the rest of the playoffs, certainly the rest of the series, so I guess the Bucks still have a shot of advancing to the NBA Finals. But yeah, if we do, we'll be a dead carcass in the road for the vulture who wins the West.

we just can't have nice things

Us 2 hours ago: "No Trae Young tonight even? Wow, Hawks are pretty toast."

Us now: "Whoops nope, I guess we are."

Never assume/take anything for granted. Especially with a Wisconsin sports team.

You really think this team can sustain no Giannis? This team is kinda embarrassing as is. Always coming out flat and playing terrible.

I’d fully expect them to roll over and die, done in Game 6 without Giannis. I think it’s more likely they somewhat just check out and quit without Giannis.

If they are going to hit shots like that I don't think it would matter if we do get giannis back. Yeesh

At the very least I now expect this series to go 7 knowing no other information. The good news is they still have to win another game in Milwaukee. Hopefully we can hold serve. That Game 1 loss really hurts now.

Yeah it's all on Game 5 now. The prayer you toss up now is that Giannis isn't that bad, can be back in a few nights, and they can hold them off in 5. House money in Game 6, and get it back to MKE for 7 with Giannis able to go. That's the miracle at this point. If Giannis can't go at all, the Finals mean diddly to me.

Twitter can hot take all it wants but you can't determine the severity of injury by TV unless the guy's leg snapped in front of you or something. You can twist stuff awkwardly and be fine, or not fine.

The team likely knows how bad it is already. If something is torn in there, the doc knew when he got his hands on it. If things are intact, then they need imaging. This could be anywhere from a sore week, to out all of next season. His facial expression, the way it bent, and him walking around just don't say anything other than he "got hurt."

I am guessing his year is done though based on Bud's demeanor.

“Guys! You can’t judge something based on how it appeared on TV!!”

*Let me just go and judge the severity based on the coaches demeanor on TV though*

Key word there would be guess. And I think I qualified it pretty clearly, but you do you. I am surprised you are still here and not embarrassed by the 50+ win team that is always flat and embarrassing.
