I wonder what the plan will be if the Brewers have a small lead going into the late innings. I assume that Hader is unavailable after pitching 3 days in a row and I would think they’d like to stay away from Williams going for a third straight day. Boxberger might be held back to be the closer if the Brewers take a lead into the ninth.

I expect to be seeing 2 or 3 of Yardley, Richards, Weigel, and Milner tonight. The offense needs to do more against Gutierrez than it did last week to give the Crew a fighting chance.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

The Brewers just have to score one more run than the Reds. That’s all that it takes to win.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

In MLB, there's no better way to move up in the standings than timing a hot streak with an easy schedule.

And there's no worse missed opportunity than losing repeatedly to bad teams.

The Brewers have certainly been on both sides of that coin but in recent years they seem to take care of business against the Reds/Pirates more often than not.

Reds aren’t that bad though…….basically a 500 team with an offense much better then ours.

Pitching has let them down but honestly they have favorable matchups in the first 2 games and Mahle vs Peralta in the 3rd is certainly no slam dunk for the crew.

Hope we can get 2 but I have a feeling Reds take 2 out of 3…….they have been playing very well of late just like the Brewers.

Hope I’m wrong

Technically true and wins are wins, we're counting wins against bad teams for the Brewers after all, but 7 of the Reds' last 8 wins have come against the Cardinals, who have lost something like 11 of their last 13 games and the Rockies, who are about as bad as the Pirates. They did win one game against the Brewers in the middle of that. That stretch of wins essentially got them to .500.

Beating the Cardinals routinely for a stretch is a feather in their cap and enough to show they are respectable, IMO.

Right…..I just don’t think there is a big gap between the Brewers and the Reds……especially when we are running out our worst starters. Also almost certainly without Hader and possibly Williams tonight.

I don’t know; their hitters are all seemingly good and former first round picks but the Reds pitching is really bad this year, especially with Gray on the DL two tones already.

Keep in mind the Reds are 10-3 against Pittsburgh and Colorado, and 22-28 against everyone else. They’re already done for the year against doormats Arizona, Colorado, and don’t see Pittsburgh again until mid-September

I would love a corner infielder

Vogelbach (250/411/523) & Urias (274/348/500) have both been pretty hot since Adames got here.

Guessing Stearns & company add someone at some point, but it might be a lil bit yet.

I'm not super confident about Lauer and Anderson myself but the Reds pitching doesn't scare me very much, hopefully the bats help us out.

Lauer not off to a great start here either...

Lauer’s command is really off tonight. Even on several of his strikes he’s been missing his spots by quite a bit.

I must not be able to watch him pitch much but this is what I see each time I watch him pitch. Falling behind each batter and then his strikes are just bad pitches in general.
