A bit surprising R.Aguilar is still starting. Hitting a buck-16 after repeating the year at AA. Not sure what he can do at this point to keep his job with the OF talent knocking at the door at A+. G.Mitchell, K.Howell, J.Ward, and J.Lujano all deserve a callup to AA, so the Brewers will need to make room soon.

Nobody’s talking a whole lot about Felix Valerio but he’s been really good. Nice to see Ernesto back too.

Valerio has been great. He has hit for average, hit for power, he doesn't K much, and he walks.

"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006

Last we heard, MiLB was re-considering the possibility of playoff baseball in mid-September.

Not sure if the split schedule is still a thing in this pandemic-impacted schedule, but the Shuckers sure hope so.

Pre-Game Media Notes

Valerio Accounts for Four of Six Runs in 6-2 Victory

Valerio went 2-for-3 with two runs, three RBI and a home run in Carolina’s series finale tying victory

Fine write-up as always via Greg Young...

Listed at 5'7" and not 21 years old until December, Felix is allowed to give us Jose Altuve vibes. Thanks (so far), Keon Broxton trade!

Felix off a southpaw

Felix-bomb off a RHP

Everything with this kid is "lined", "smoked", "tattooed". Such fun.

Is it possible to look smaller than 5'7" because he looks shorter. Or at least he looks shorter than the umpire running with him in the last link. I thought this was a little league game at first.
