Brewers placed Tyrone Taylor (right shoulder strain) on 10-day injured list. It's retroactive to yesterday.

 

Utility player Tim Lopes is up from Triple-A Nashville.

Tyrone Taylor's injury was a freak accident, Counsell said. Felt it playing catch pregame yesterday, couldn't take BP. Counsell said it was relatively minor, though.

What's freak about playing catch in pregame warmup and what does he mean by relatively minor? Relative to what? Shaw's injury? Tough break for Taylor with Cain down. Brewers are really missing RH pop now.

 

Lopes is hitting under .200. Hager is an infielder by trade, but I would have preferred his bat over Lopes.

Sounds like he could be back today. Does he replace Anderson on the active roster, since they don't need a 6th starter for another week?

No, they have Fisher as the 4th outfielder and he's out of options. They also will need arms from the minor leagues after riding Suter hard in Colorado and covering 6+ innings with their bullpen last night. I would guess Yardley up with Anderson to IL, then Milner is optioned and Bettinger comes up to give them some length.

Yes Fisher is out of options, but they need Taylor's bat in the lineup. You make room to keep Fisher by DFA'ing Peterson. That gets them down to 5 infielders for a while, but they can bring back Reyes in another week.

 

Yardley would be eligible to replace Anderson, but I think they'd go with lefty Perdomo or Weber who could give them length if needed to replace Milner.

Probably Narvaez.

They can put Anderson on the DL and replace with Taylor because they don't need that starter spot for a week. They already have an 8 man bullpen. If they want to make a bullpen swap, that would be a separate move.
