Joe Gray Jr. seeks to extend his 16-game hitting streak, while the Mudcats need a win:

And he does with a single

"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006

Timber Rattlers no hit the South Bend Cubs in a 4-1 win. Justin Bullock, making his first A+ start after being promoted goes five innings with 10 K's. Carlos Luna went the next four.

The pitchers also gave up no walks. Runners reached due to one hit batter and three errors. The run scored reached on error, stole second and third, and scored on a wild pitch.

Second T-Rats no hitter of the reason (first was seven innings), and third for the organization.

That is a way to make a high-A debut. I was just thinking earlier today about how all the guys likely to shoot up the prospect lists for the Brewers this season are hitters (Gray, Howell, Ward, Hamilton, etc.) and that we needed a breakthrough pitcher. Maybe it is Bullock.

Also, seven innings, no hits, no walks, 11 Ks thus far for Luna. Welcome back Carlos.

Reese Olson might also be a breakthrough pitcher

Anybody know why Korry Howell exited the game early? Hopefully nothing serious.

I'll second this question, anyone hear anything?

He's out of the lineup tonight so I'm assuming some sort of injury.

Via Chris Mehring:

"btw, Korry Howell rolled an ankle during a rundown in the first inning last night. He left the game after the top of the third inning. Not in the lineup tonight. Nothing too serious."

Of course, we are going to get to more about Thursday's night Wisconsin no-hitter here shortly.

Surely you remember Wednesday's wild 13-12 Timber Rattlers loss and how it was documented.

As detailed as Chris Mehring was at the time, he found 17 additional notes of interest.

The Rattlers also overlaid Chris' call over Gabriel Garcia's last-second game-tying grand slam --

Bullock & Luna Combine for Timber Rattlers Second No-Hitter of 2021

VIDEO via WNDU: Brief news report via the local station

The South Bend Cubs often (but apparently not always) post full game highlights, similar to what the Rattlers do (for every game).

But so far, at least, no additional video from the no-hitter save for this, the final out.

Thanks to 28 walks in 29 games, Hayden Cantrelle's line is .158/.357/.274 (.631 OPS).

More goodness from Brice Turang, but stolen base ratio is now only 7-for-12. He's already been caught stealing as many times as all of 2019, when he stole 30 bases at two levels of A-Ball.

Mudcats Drop Second Straight 10-6 in Kannapolis

Joe Gray Jr. totaled two hits while extending his hitting streak to 17 straight in the loss

First time all season Kannapolis (6-26) has won consecutive games...

VIDEO Tweets via the Mudcats (Kannapolis audio feed):

Joe Gray singles, Freddy Zamora gets to run more due to Cannon Ballers error

Zavier Warren, limited to 43 AB's thus far, pulls his 2nd HR of the season

On May 24th, Warren was listed as being placed on the 60-day IL (injury not specified). Clearly that was in error, as he was activated June 8th. Time warp!

Ernesto Martinez watch continues.

Gabe Holt misses a 2nd game after his stumble on the first base bag Tuesday.

Felix Valerio, just 20 years old, looks to be a nice lottery ticket off the Mets' DSL system as a part of the fine Keon Broxton deal that netted (indirectly) Omar Narvaez, with Bobby Wahl still a Brewer down in Nashville.
