Looks nice in the box score but Milner is due for some serious regression.

I don't think anyone believes Hoby is a true talent level 1.80 ERA reliever, but ZiPS projects him for a 3.72 ERA rest of season compared to a current league average ERA for an NL reliever of 4.07, so he should be perfectly cromulent as a 5th/6th/7th option out of the pen.

this has been stated by 180 people 3000 different times ... but looking at the averages up and down our lineup is shocking every time you do it.

It's amazing they score as many runs as they do given the number of hits per game.

They must have the highest runs per hit ratio in the bigs.

Regardless of the outcome here, do you agree with the decision to walk Yelich to face Avi right now? Crazy that right now I'm not sure its the obvious choice

ZiPS has Yelich projected at an 886 OPS rest of season compared to 762 for Avisail, I'd guess whatever internal projections the Reds have are in the same ballpark. Add the platoon advantage on top of that & the numbers probably indicated Garcia was an easier out, not to mention walking Yelich also set up a double play possibility.

That old dude who is mad about not getting the foul ball is hilarious!

That is pure great tv right there...

Yep, he didn’t bend over far enough to pick it up. Probably couldn’t. Then a young Reds fan gave him a ball… and he took it from a kid?!? WTH

I think that was reds promotional staff that gave him the ball

Yup, it was...

I just thought it was funny when he was yelling at the guy who got the original ball. It was comical.

Ok, Peterson came through there… got to give him that.

Yeah, he really drilled that one. :laughing

It looks as good as a line drive in the scorebooks! Put the bat on the ball, you’ll never know what’ll happen.

So, are you saying that he’s the kind of hitter you want in the 6 spot on a regular basis? I doubt it.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Nope… I wish he wasn’t on the team. But he put the bat on the ball in that at-bat (instead of striking out like most players do these days) and it resulted in two runs.
