The Yelich situation is very bad news for this team. Given where they are without him doing anything it has covered up how bad he has been. The plain truth is given the payroll mess that having Cain and Bradley around for another year they need Yelich even more than first thought. There is no escape from Alcatraz if he doesn't get back to form. I am excited to see how this season plays out but it will be a shame to let these arms get away in the future because they are stuck paying a singles hitter 25 million a year.

Well at least Adames was fun to watch tonight.

Yeah, his second 4-hit game already since joining the Crew. His addition has certainly been one of the highlights of the first half of the season.

Not just “at Night” anymore.

If Vogelbach could hit another dinger here or there and get that SLG up over .400 - .425, I could live with his .325-ish OBP. He takes his walks plenty. I'd obviously prefer a 1B that could OPS over .700 or so, but he's at least getting on base, even though he runs like a MKIV tank.

If this is the yellitch we're going to get for the rest of this contract it's going to really hurt.

1 for 3 with 2 walks.

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

And the hit was a double. His line was good for a 238 wRC+ on the night. So if that’s the Yelich they get for the rest of the contract then they have a future Hall of Famer under control for nearly a decade.

I should have clarified. I was commenting more on his last 30 games split.
