AUDIO via Southern Middle Tennessee Sports: This interview with Voice of the Sounds Jeff Hem has every fantastic insight into the current Sounds 15-game winning streak you can imagine -- the roster juggling, Jim Henderson's influence on the pitching staff, so much more to even list.

Unfortunately, the updates include two tough ones on the injury front --

The two players who exited Tuesday's game early are expected to be out "weeks", not days.

OF Corey Ray has a hip flexor.

OF/1B Dustin Peterson has a left hand injury via a HBP. Peterson is a RH bat-to-ball low-K sneaky fiend with pop who saw time in big league camp. I personally believe he may have been in even more consideration than Zack Green regarding a possible call-up (just speculation though).

***

With Hernan Perez and Logan Forsythe involved at least a bit more with Olympic qualifying, Jeff reminds us that there is nary a bench position player beyond the backup catcher most nights now.

I'd love to learn more about the Brewers Covid "Taxi Squad" the next time the big league club hits the road, because the AAA roster can't spare to lose a Luke Maile or Pablo Reyes right now. There's just no bodies.

And this is all in the midst of a friggin' 15-game (and counting) winning streak!

Kudos, Sounds players and coaches!

OF Corey Ray has a hip flexor.

[sarcasm]I hope he does.[/sarcasm]

sorry I couldn't resist. It's a pet peeve of mine when a sports announcer says "and (insert name) is out with an oblique." No he's not out with an oblique, he's out with an oblique INJURY.

It was a nice ride while it lasted. Nashville loses 1-0. Cannot blame Ashby. He gave up 1 unearned run over 7 inning. 1 BB and 11 Ks. That maybe enough to get him to the majors. His overall walk total is still too high, but this is the type of performance I'm sure the Brewers were looking for. If not now, he will be up soon.

Is Mitchell hurt again? Left yesterdays game early and not in the lineup today.

He's left early every game he's played so far even when he was DH. Probably easing him into things.

"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006

Friis, Turang Both Record Multi-Hit Efforts

Brice Turang won't turn 22 until November. 23 of 29 hits singles, but things are looking up.

He did walk, but Tristen Lutz' hitless slide grows to 22.

Lucas Erceg fanned all four trips.
