Will CC let him pitch the 7th?

I don't see why not. Pitch count is high but not unreasonable to come out for the 7th. Got a bit of a lead. See what happens in the 7th and then go from there.

I am assuming that Counsell has no thoughts of letting Peralta throw 130+ pitches should things get...interesting.

Would be interesting if he was more in line with having a shot to get it done in 115-120 pitches. Barring a lightning fast 7th inning I would guess that would be the end of the line regardless of the number of hits on the board.

I say go for it. I’m usually on the conservative side with these situations but Freddy is a guy that has the stuff to get this done. Make some history!
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

IF...Freddy still has IT going after next inning and Counsell DOESN'T let him to at least try to finish it regardless of how many pitches he's at then...would be ridiculous. No one cares about a combined one. A chance to make history and on his birthday too. Guess what, most Pitchers that throw them end up in the 120 pitch range...just the way it works. If Pitchers can't throw 120 pitches these days, there's something seriously wrong. There's even more wrong with a manager that won't let them under these circumstances.

If they could ever get Shaw to stop diving in and down on everything he would probably hit a lot better.

It's hard enough to hit a baseball when it's moving in a 90 plus mile an hour and you compound it by moving your head 3 ft horizontally and 3 ft vertically makes it that much harder

I don't think a pitch count needs to be a totally rigid thing. Sometimes in situations like this there's some adrenaline that kicks in and gives guys a little more. Every guy and every situation is different. All about how Freddy is feeling. Some nights a guy might be gassed at 90 pitches, another night a guy might be feeling strong at 115.

LOL I'm sure typing on a keyboard will adversely impact what Freddy is doing at Miller Park.

No. If this was Lindblom or Anderson, sure.

Those free moving electrons could alter the air current inside amfam and cause a bloop single to land instead of being caught.

You can’t prove it won’t so throw some salt over your shoulder or do whatever un-hexing thing is appropriate in this situation

Just tuned in...Freddy with the no-no! Too many pitches though. Maybe we can get a combined no-hitter tonight?

Remembering what happened when Peralta pitched 6 strong shutout innings against the Braves and left with an 8-0 lead, I’m just focusing on getting a win, and preferably without seeing the tying run at the plate.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.
