If you look at Yelich's approach in 2019 and compare it to what he is doing today, he has changed what he is doing with his front foot. I don't know if it's because of the injured knee but he seems to be flying open way too much this year compared to what he did in 2018 and 2019.

Yelich’s wRC+ indicates he’s a slightly above average hitter the last season and this. This guy isn’t the same. Knee injury looks like it sapped his power.

Does he look the same running? It’s a fractured patella, you literally wear a brace and it heals on it’s own without surgery. If he runs alright, his knee isn’t sapping him of anything.

Maybe he just had two really big outlier years and the Brewers bought at the top of the market. After all, he did have over 1300 at bats as a sub .800 ops hitter prior to coming to Milwaukee

Did you see his LHP/RHP splits? He’s clearly not torquing up the same.

Maybe it’s his bad back, or maybe 2018 and 2019 were the best he was ever going to be. All I am saying is that his knee injury was a fractured patella that wasn’t dislocated or comminuted and was treated non-surgically. The odds are nearly non-existent such an injury would be career altering if he is able to run as before
