2021-06-01: Tigers (Boyd) at Brewers (Lauer) [Brewers lose, 10-7 -- Crew hits 5 HRs including 2 each from Wong and Taylor]

Keston needs to go away for a long time

Dude needs to go to AAA for at least 2 months.

I was surprised they brought him back up so quick. Was hoping he would have struggled in AAA so he would be forced to revamp his process at the plate. I hope he can turn it around, but wow he is looking bad right now.

The decision to bring him back up was terrible. He had a tiny run where he was hitting for power which he pretty much always has when he's hit and during that stretch he was still striking out 40% of his ABs in AAA. There was zero evidence that he had figured anything out on a sustainable level.

Schoop has had one ball with less than 95 mph exit velocity this series.

Looks like hiura has tied up woodruff in the era/ batting average competition. I’d personally like to see a “duel of the fates” montage in great vs. suck

Six runs but still only six hits.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Hiura may need Burnes' sports psychologist. Hitting .438 in AAA vs. .127 with the highest in-zone whiff rate in MLB just doesn't make sense to be due to mechanics or scouting.

There aren’t major league pitchers in AAA, in game video and little to no advanced scouting. It should surprise no one that he ripped some pitches against weaker competition.

He’s most likely on the verge of being removed from the MLB team again. Maybe he figures it out eventually, but given their personnel moves and his struggles he’s not a player they’re going to plan their future around any longer

Can someone explain why Hauser came out of the pen? Was there a demotion I missed?

They were going to a 6 man rotation for a bit to give guys extra rest. Houser wasn't demoted but once Lauer crapped the bed they really don't have any guys capable of going long so it was either burn 6 relievers or let Hauser go as long as he could. I wasn't excited using Hauser there but Yardley and Bettinger don't have what it takes to go 6 innings between them. Probably don't have what it takes to go 4 innings between them...

Yelich is not the same. That injury ruined him.

I really think that the injury changed him. I think he knew it and inked a deal before anyone would know he's diminished. The Brewers fell for it and it may haunt the franchise for years.
